It seems they’ve won some good concessions, but it’s still little more than “sign this and we’ll maybe consider talking to you more, if we feel like it”.

It’s less of an extortion than the original offer, but that’s still what it is.

Hmmm... I've no effing idea. It's a bit vague, no? But it mentions investment in Ukraine reconstruction and resource development so that sounds I'm ok.
This bit : "We have heard multiple times from the US administration that it’s part of a bigger picture,” hmmm, I bet it is, to benefit the US even more.
I'm really nervous for them: this leaves Ukraine open to interference,/ manipulation from Trump, his flunkies and especially Musk.
Their parliament may throw it out, or should they relax cos it's only a prelim agreement?

It isn't. There's no peace without justice or accountability.

getting a ceasfire probably would count as peace in Trumps head. though it is part of the process and having everyone stop shooting in current stalemate isn't a bad thing. it could take months or even years once you've got that, because i dont see either side backing down from some red lines.

Russia won’t cause any issues whilst there’s American contractors in Ukraine mining, but the moment the well runs dry and the Americans leave, it’s open season again in 4 years time after Russia’s economy and military has recovered.

Just to clarify, as you know, they didn't start it, choose it themselves or even antagonise it themselves. They've been left in the shit.

Certainly don't think that we, safely here in the UK, can have the view or make demands that we must defeat Putin now.
That's not for us to decide at Ukraines, and others expense, particularly when they have a chance for peace.

Justice and accountability may have to wait.

On what terms Ukraine settle, I agree.

But we do have a vested interest in seeing Putin fall..the man who used Polonium 210 in London and then Novichok in Salisbury.

He threatens Baltics, he's constantly undermining our democracies and funding every party that seeks to destroy western societies.

He's a menace and the world will be a much better place once he's burning in hell
