Both have scored crucial goals, ‘ nuff said? For me, yes. But I understand Weiffer’s best performances have been away from home and I’ve only been to home games. In the home games I’ve seen, he’s pretty much moved between dreadful and, at best, an adequate defensive midfielder moving at snails pace.
MOR was excellent against City, and very good against Brentford, in comparison.
I thought the tactical shift to move him further forward was a mistake today - I thought he looked lost about what his role was in both the attacking and defensive phases.
Quite an ignorant comment. As though good players never come through lesser clubs, and no, Fulham didn’t release him, he turned down a senior contract and left the club wishing to play elsewhere.Still feels a bit of an odd one. If he was any good why did Celtic sign him when he was at mk dons. And why did Fulham release him in the first place.
And yet he created one of our two open play chances today, and was also responsible for one of our best chances at Brentford. One of the blokes I stand with calls him the ghost, which I think is fairly accurate. You can see he’s a talented player but has been largely anonymously thus far.
No - he seems a nice guy. Keen to developAnother Dahoud?
I'd agreed with that broadly. With early changes made when necessary as all of those (with the exception of Baleba usually) can have a bit of a shocker from the start. I do wish he'd stick to something a bit.Not his night tonight but he’s shown glimpses of class in his appearances so far. I think he’s a more useful sub at this moment in time.
Until Welbeck and Wieffer return, I think our front 6 picks itself:
———Ayari - Baleba
Minteh - Rutter - Mitoma
———-Joao Pedro
Utter garbage. He has probably been second only to Baleba at breaking g up opposition play and if it wasnt for that fateful pass v Wolves everyone would think he’d been at the very worst average. This rewriting of history blows my mind. At this stage, Weiffer’s been our most underwhelming summer signing for me, by quite some distance. And that’s saying something.
Did well at Leicester as well, looking far more the part than a number of the signings.Wieffer has had one decent half of football against Shite Ham let’s not get carried away
Bit of competition in that department. Minteh? Gruda?More underwhelming than O’Riley? Goal against City apart and he has looked way out of his depth, at least Wieffer looks aggressive in the tackle, O’Riley jumps every challenge.
He did do well versus City, but was poor against Brentford, blocked the runs of wingers, and left us exposed in midfield because of his lack of positional discipline. For me, yes. But I understand Weiffer’s best performances have been away from home and I’ve only been to home games. Need to see more personally. And yet he created one of our two open play chances today, and was also responsible for one of our best chances at Brentford.
