Still not sure about your best streak for 2024 makes sense?
Thank you for pointing that out - I have been having a few problems with your username in my spreadsheet not hyperlinking properly - I think there is an extra space or something; hopefully corrected now.Well done @SeagullsoverLondon. I think you still need to add my 3-3 draw today to my league record(in the Cup) - how you keep up with all this is remarkable!
What's wrong with it?Still not sure about your best streak for 2024 makes sense?
Oh yeah. The two should be 42. No fails this year. What happened was I thought I had failed to complete the day wordle went down. I updated my spreadsheet, then got online late in the day, and didn't update the correction. Or something. Does that make sense?Still not sure about your best streak for 2024 makes sense?
@Colonel Mustard I started doing it after someone else mentioned it on here. My mean scores have improved as a result, as well as using 'rules' - basically trying to use common letters first. If i'd started calculating my mean score after that, it would be a lot lower, I think. Sorry it didn't work for you today (incidentally, your sobriquet used to be one of my nicknames!).Downright cheating I'd call that.
'Looking at past answers' OTOH was a game changer for me. It never occurred to me to do this until after I'd finished bottom of the last competition. I was quite miffed especially as I think of myself as a bit of a wordsmith type (used to work as an editor). In trying to explain it, I raised the topic of checking previous solutions (something I'd never done) but as no one responded to my post on the question of whether or not it was allowed, I came to the conclusion that I was probably the only person not doing it. Needless to say that my scores have improved significantly since then (apart from today's 6!) As the number of 5-letter words dwindles, Wordle is therefore getting easier.
Boooooooo!Eagle - lucky guess, must have been dozens of options at least.
Streak: 299
Average: 3.61
Wordle 967 2/6

Yes everyone can use previous word lists but I'm undecided as to whether it should be allowed (maybe because I don't have one). If however you get the last 4 letters 'ound' you are left with at least 7 other possibilities of the 1st letter (assuming you've eliminated 1). My 'back up word' if I had no yellows on the first go, would eliminate one option. A list of words would narrow that down further.Interested from afar- is everyone free to use previous winning word lists as some on here do, as can make a big difference to results? Am guessing there are no rules/ anything goes?
