Just seen the results. Gutted for the Leos.

Saw a few minutes of the KC game as the missus put it on (as a Browns fan I cant ever bring myself to watch the Ravens) but turned over when Kelce scored and the cameras instantly turned to Taylor F****** Swift. So fed up with the circus that the Chiefs have become. Watched Simon Reeves Wilderness instead.

The last few years I've found myself less and less interested once the Championship games come around. If its not a team I have a liking for I just dont bother - and this will be the 3rd Superbowl running that I wont be watching either. Maybe Im just getting old (I promise I do love the sport still) but I cant see the point of staying up all night to watch two teams I hate...? Anyone else feel that way these days?

Some bone headed calls there by either Campbell or Johnson esp the run play burning the time out...

The 4th down fails I can live with tho personally I'd kick the FG get the points but....

Jeeezus the 49ers had some luck with the potential interception bouncing off the helmet into Aiyuk and our dropped catches but I guess one mans bad luck is another mans choke so can take that

Chiefs 49ers does massively underwhelm as a Superbowl. 🥱

With KC especially, it's getting as boring and repetitive as the Tom Brady Patriots days.

Maybe put a tenner on Travis Kelce simultaneously a) retiring and b) proposing to Taylor Swift at full time; the financial winnings might be some compensation for the tedious media fawning we're probably going to have to endure to get there.

Two crackerjack games last night. Mahomes and Purdy were insanely good, totally crazy plays in both games. The Ravens ill-disciplined play cost them as the Chiefs displayed their true championship mettle especially their defense which was exceptional.

Gutted for the Lions but they were undone by the bravery that got them so far, can't do anything but admire them for that. As for the 49ers, Brock Purdy was just brilliant (and maybe a tad fortunate).

I think we are in for a treat for the Super Bowl, I have no strong feelings regarding either team. I'd be pleased for Taylor if the Chiefs win, I'd be pleased for Trent Williams if he gets a ring that his career deserves. I just want a good game that goes down to the wire and either Mahomes or Purdy gets the chance to lead their team to glory.

Now when are Washington going to hire their new HC.

Feel for Detroit. The game was there for the taking but as @Hotchilidog sais, their shortcomings last night was the other side of the same coin that got them this far.

A 49ers V Chiefs bowl isn’t one I would have hoped for at the start of the season, but I’m beyond excited nonetheless. Watching the Super Bowl as a boy was the first thing that got me hooked on the sport. Now even my fiancé joins me for the night as we import some shitty American beer/snacks and make a proper night of it.

Now what to do with a free Sunday evening this week?!

With the exception of the running play, Campbell’s bold decisions had helped get the Lions to this point, so I don’t blame him.

The dropped catches including the helmet catch, were game changers….

So frustrating

He's half of Carroll's age and we went from the oldest HC in the league to the youngest.

Would prefer Ben Johnson but I like this hire. More intriguing than someone like Dan Quinn for example (BTW, he was just hired by the Commanders. Their new owner is probably not happy to miss out on both Johnson and Macdonald). Will hopefully assemble a good coaching staff, especially would like a proven OC and let him do his job without too much meddling.

Defense should improve a lot. If our players could just learn how to tackle we'd probably won 2-3 more games last season already. There will be some changes in personell but I think we have more talent on defense than shown last season and he'll get more out of the players who will stay. But clearly this is a long term process and hopefully fans will be patient with him.

Also excited to see how he and GM John Schneider (without influence of Carroll) will "attack" free agency and draft. Just something fresh and new after 14 years of doing mostly the same things.

Welcome and good luck, coach Macdonald!

You could say that about most of the league now tbh. Tackling technique these days is atrocious for the most part. All about the highlight reel or trying to strip the ball.
How about lowering the shoulder, wrapping up, and driving your man to the floor? Simple.

Noah Gray to score 1st 1/4 TD - 50/1.

(I got greedy as him scoring 2 TD's all game is 125/1 so I'm in on that too)
