Brighton factually.....
Why DID we sign 15 goals already this season in the PL2 - Mark O Mahony when we already had a prolific 19 year Irish centre forward. MADNESS.
simple it is a conveyor belt...

Not everyone of them will make the first team, however what they will do when we sell them on for a profit, is enable us to stay within FFP and purchase that Pedro type signing every now and again....

Trust in the system.

Not sure why the need for the snarkiness.

Enciso, Buonanotte, Sarmiento, Kozlowski, Ayari, Moran all competing for the same spot (albeit some also can play wide).

He is leaving Saints due to a lack of first team opportunities, so more likely that a loan is on the cards.

There's a lot of other kids that we have in exactly the same situation and position.

From wikipeadia:

"Considered a two-footed player, who can receive and pass with either foot as well as strike free-kicks with either foot, it has been reported that Doyle has been mentored to a degree by James Ward-Prowse at Southampton. Doyle has played for Southampton and England U-18s in a wide range of central midfield roles, and even in a withdrawn number 10 role."

Sounds like a young Adam Lallana too. Hopefully our boy Adam can now mentor him.

Never a bad thing to have too many options.

Based on what I've just read he plays in a similar role to Buonanotte. The lad can also take a free kick.

Amazing stats for Saints U18s and Premier League 2. He was captain and scored 2 in a 6-0 demolition vs Reading.

Very likely to be true as also reported by these guys who are usually spot on with academy players from the Premier League.

Also notice all of the replies to this tweet are Southampton fans gutted about it.

It seems he’s the ‘star’ of their academy.

Can't complain about Chelsea and Hove Albion stealing our youngers then.

Well this is a bit different to situations where they've taken our youth players (Zak Sturge and Shim Mheuka), as they were out of contract/compensation packages, where wages were offered higher. This seems to be us actually paying a fair fee for a player and adding sell on clauses. It also seems that he comes here as it sees it as a better pathway to the first team, where as (now I can't say for certain) the Chelsea moves seem to be more money motivated (increased terms).

3 goals in 4 PL2 games this season, 7 in 13 last season. There are a few clips of him scoring from free kicks.
Anyone who is capable of taking a free kick and getting his shot anywhere near the goal would be very welcome.

The sheer fact that it's very often Dunky that is taking them now should be a gigantic clue as to how poor we are at scoring from them.

The more talent we have for DZ to work with. the more chance we have of keeping him. We need a depth of talent. He is also already in the country which should lower the time he needs for acclimatisation with us

It was a tongue in cheek comment.

That makes sense. Somewhere or other when I was reading about him earlier, I read that Ward-Prowse mentored him at Saints.

Why are they always attacking midfielders? We have loads of youngsters in this position already, will be tough for him to break through.

We don't. A couple of seasons ago it was central defenders, then goalkeepers, you just need to wait and fullbacks will be in fashion
