It seems to be an all around theme this season - also affecting a lot of other clubs. At least Perv and Enciso should be back soon, which will be a big boost. And having Wellbz back is huge.

Are they?

Enciso was in training

Definitely injured in a game:

Mitoma (Palace A)
Adingra (Palace A)
March (City A)
Fati (AEK A)
Estupinan (Ajax A)
Veltman (arsenal A)
Lamptey (somebody A)
Moder (H)
In fact, looking at this list, it is clear that the big problem is playing AWAY games.

I’d assumed Adingra had just been part of a tactical change and forgotten he was injured in the game.

Lamptey, Moder and Enciso have all had set backs or secondary injuries in training.

Fati was Forest and so was Lamptey this time (but definitely the latter has had training injuries).

The starting 11 in arguably our most controlled PL performance this season at home to Newcastle. We’re missing March and Veltman, assuming Estupinan’s back. In our PL years including this season we must’ve faced worst scenarios?

We’ve just had Moder, Welbeck and now Estupinan back, so surely it was worse about 2-3 weeks ago?
We’ve lost Mitoma, Veltman and Adingra since then. Estupinan not likely to start, Welbeck has 30 minutes football since his return and Moder coming back from 18 months out and completely new to De Zerbi’s system.

Much worse situation.

With so many players out injured, maybe fixtures could be played on FIFA instead, where player fitness isn't an issue? A bit like the final 'singles' day of the Ryder Cup.

If only we still had Maupay – he was pretty handy, I seem to recall.

Silly old bat
I remember a massive injury crisis around this time of the year when we beat Southampton 3-0 under Gus. I think he was forced to throw in Forster-Caskey, Cook and Hall.

We also had a lot of injuries the season after when we made the play offs under Garcia.
We did have a lot of injuries in Gus’ last season with us, and the club doctor went back to Germany. Both OrlandI & Buckley have said since, they had problems with the doctor. I have heard one of the misconduct charges was relating to the relationship with the doctor, or rather falling out with him.

and yet the media will still only bang on about poor old Newcastle's injury list an no-one else's.

Put it this way… it’s not the worst time to have an injury crisis (if there ever is such a thing)

The Europa League knock out stages is when we want a stronger squad and I’m confident we will be a lot stronger come the end of March.

Reality is we aren’t getting relegated and a top 10 finish is the most likely outcome in what is a very congested season.

It’s the Europa League that I’m sure RDZ sees as the ‘big target’

Mazilu and hopefully Barco would give us further options and strength in depth come January.

Odd thing is dispite horendous injuries very little taking a chance on an Academy players. Hinshlewood played played one game in proper position in terrible result at Villa. He has since done adequate job at FB but where are Academy players in this position. DeZerbi game based on 2 wingers so will he go without tomorrow or give the young lad a debut who recently came on as sub.
