No, it was me that was wrong. They did say 1977. It was the November. And the Italians got away with everything. I remember my Mum, who wasn't crazy about football, going nuts. You know how I defend refs, but those were different times. There was something fishy going on that night. Tardelli was absolutely brutal against Keegan, full on elbow smash to the face, you'd be arrested for that now. No action. Keegan retaliated after another foul (in the penalty box) with a push and got an immediate yellow. It was so blatant.

I remember that cheating Italian team, the usual snide defenders and refs often on the payroll.

My karma as a young teen the following summer .., they got knocked out.

If any CDM over commits on a tackle or interception then both centre backs are automatically in trouble whoever they are. The whole tactical point of Rice and Phillips is to screen the back four.
The CBs have to do a bit of defending now and again. They can't rely on 2 CDMs to cut everything out. Most teams only play with 1 CDM anyway.

That is truly bizarre. When did Dier last make the squad? Dunk has played in two of the last three matches. I'm also surprised they haven't included Mings.

If I was Dunk and I wasn't in the 11 for the warm-up matches I'd be tempted to f*** Southgate off and tell him I want to concentrate on my club football.
Behave, an injury or two and he’s playing in a European championship. Chance of a lifetime for a player like Lewis Dunk who’s only ever been on the fringes of the England squad.

You’re correct of course about most teams using one. It’s one of Southgate’s over cautious traits that I’ve bemoaned on here before.

That said, as a centre back you want to be defending your man / zone and the ball in. You don’t want to be dealing with an overload because your team mate(s) switched off or went for a Hollywood interception.

Well, thank the Lord you aren't Dunky then. Given the chance to go to a Euros in the twilight of your career and you decide that's the time to tell the manager to stuff it? Madness. It's a squad game, and if you can't be part of a squad without whining about not playing, then you shouldn't be picked

And also what does that say to his teammates here that are on the fringes of the BHAFC set up?

I can only assume that they made the list at the beginning of the qualifiers and are keeping it consistent.

Rubbish, though.

England defender Harry Maguire says supporters who booed midfielder Jordan Henderson "aren't England fans".
"Proper England fans don't boo players," said Maguire.

That'll go down well...

Dunk looks like he has a good chance of going to the euros. One injury and looks pretty nailed on. Even if he doesn’t play then he would be in a squad with a chance to win a medal. Anyone who says he will just walk away is mad!

He's dense.
He's a f**king pillock.

Imagine, after putting in a perfectly OK performance and not getting booed himself for the first time in a while, having the temerity to point the finger at fans who have paid a good sum of money when times are tight and saying they aren't true fans for daring to make their feelings known about a multi-millionaire who shucked off his morals at the faintest whiff of a massive payday.

Absolutely tone deaf. The sooner he, Henderson and Southgate are out of the picture the better. That every single one of them are apparently oblivious to quite why people are pissed off at Henderson speaks volumes about the people they are.

I was never much of a Kane fan in the early years (thinking he was a flat track bully) but last couple of years he has really changed my mind. I do hope he's pleased. However, despite him and Bellingham being truly World Class players we do still look like we'd be taken apart by the top teams. Struggling to beat a poor Italian team.
Bar France though, who ARE the top European teams (with Euros looming). After France, I would argue it is us. Spain and Germany both in transition, Portugal should be considered, maybe Holland?

I'd back our attack to outscore almost any of those. It's just France I really struggle to see past for next summer.

The rest is football podcast discussed this. Gary Lineker played devil’s advocate saying that Jordan made himself the spokesman for LGBT community. To which shearer said “would it have been better if he had not bothered?” - I thought “kind of yeah. Because he has shown he cares until someone pays him loads not to” which shows he never cared and suggests he was doing it to be popular. Richards and shearer agreed 99% of population would do the same.

I am in the 1%. I could earn loads more than I do doing what I do. Because I want to make a positive difference.
