Not having seen much of the friendlies - going on comments from NSC I was expecting Dahoud to be a Stephens-type player. But most of his passes seemed to be forward!
I thought he looked quite exciting during the US games, but in the Vallecano game something was just... off. So off that it almost felt like he was instructed to focus on the defence and not be involved in the build up at all. Much more promising tonight.

That said, I'd really preferred Gilmour to start next game, Dahoud needs time to get back to being Dahoud after not playing much last season. And with the season we have in front of us we need them both to be the bee's knees.

Thought we played well enough to win the game and created plenty of chances, but it could’ve easily been a different story against better opposition. Encouraging thing is how many chances this team creates you always feel like we have a goal or two in us every game we play. Certainly we can get better but, we won 4-1.

How did Dahoud do?
Not 100% on the same wavelength I felt. But I think he'll get tuned in soon.

There was one moment in the first half where he passed the ball forward into absolutely nowhere. I think what happened is that he intended to pass to a running Solly without realizing that Solly had already checked his run because Dahoud didn't hit it first time as he'd expected.

It's of no consequence in the grand scheme of things, but I thought it illustrated that they weren't quite in sync.

Nasty lads, i think they were famous for chair throwing if my memory serve me right.

A group of pretty rough looking albion fans went past us then about 30 seconds later 3 barberry clad Luton fans squared up to me and my mate's 15 year old brother who I was taking to the match.

They would have noticed the group of Albon fans who would have relished the challenge but chose me, a 10 stone 23 year old and a 15 year old still waiting for his voice to break.

Some poor mistakes from the officials today. They got away with it as it didn’t affect the result. Estupinan yellow, Solly offside, Dunk penalty. All simple calls and just wrong.
sitting pretty close to Dunk penalty, looked stonewall to me and most around me.

Lots of positives. Milner will be an asset.
Our A1 engine has been ripped out though.
Mac was a little overrated imo (hype after WC) but how do you replace Caicedo?
