Any ideas why there only 81k there, and not 90k as is the capacity.
Us 36k sold out
Assuming Utd had the same allocation 36k sold out = 72k
9k corporate plus 9k unsold seats

Why were there 9k tickets left. Utd couldn't get enough tickets even if they were given all 90k and the fact that we sold out would point to the reasoning why both teams
could have been given more?
Why weren't the rest of the tickets sold?
Anyone got any ideas?

It’s mostly club Wembley people, guests of teams, and press who have a ticket but didn’t show. And there was quite a large segregation zone, which would have taken up about 1500 seats or probably more.

I scabbed a ticket for the American football at Wembley on the middle tier and spoke to the event organiser from the supplier who was putting us up for the day. In his words "the hardest part of my job is finding people to come" He had 12 tickets, there were 9 there including 2 "dog ate my homework" excuses for no shows on the day.

Mad that companies pay fortunes for premium seats that people can't be arsed or don't want to use.

Even madder that these companies will offset this great expense to tax including the bar bill…. 😉

Looked packed on TV. For those who haven't seen the tv reply yet or can't bring themselves to.

It was some sight, really did look and sound incredibly.

Nope, client entertainment expenses are not deductible for Corporation Tax or VAT purposes and, whilst staff (including director) entertainment expenses are, they are then considered a taxable benefit on the employee, subject to PAYE and NI which, if the employer covers it effectively doubles the cost.

The bit of BT I worked for in around 1999 was swimming in cash and had a box at Spurs for the account teams to entertain clients. I was told that most seasons it got used 3 or 4 times.

Players families were in with the fans, we had 20+ of Colwell's family in front of us. The adults wearing his match worn shirts. A pity they didn't really want to be there as they were up and down like a whore's drawers most of the game.

I can understand and support that the players want family members to be there, but 20? that seems excessive if that is indeed the norm. If that is true, then that might explain why, prior to the Grimsby match, 2 lots of 200 or so tickets became available late on, as "the wider football family" didn't want them!

I did notice while watching on television that the red seats made some empty seats look like they had Man U supporters in.
I assume there's a reason why the seats in the national stadium are that colour rather than white.
We kicked off after half time with what I assume was corporate hospitality less than 1/4 full imo. Always the same at Wembley though, those with the least interest get the best seats.

Not in our box! All 8 present and correct before KO, immediately after HT etc. 4 Utd fans, 4 Brighton and everyone desperate to see their side win :) But could see lots of empty, not even occupied, boxes down other end. Companies don’t use them. Same at Amex. Amex themselves don’t use their 1901 tickets for most of season. 4 empty seats I know of all year except for maybe 2 matches. Crying shame.

We had eight in our box too, 3 neutrals, 1 Albion (me), 1 United and 3 who didn’t watch a minute of the football and talked shop in every serious voices. Never again, but the free food and bar was nice. Very nice in fact.

Poor you. Who goes to football and does that?! Nah, we were all genuine fans lucky enough to wing the free corporate c/o companies under the guise of business. Nobody did anything other than talk football all afternoon. Ow, and eat, drink and make merry obviously.
