Checked my Facebook today and on this day last year I did the last mow of the year and collected 6 bin bags of leaves.

This year the grass is 7" long and haven't had the chance as the grass is too wet due to lack of day time sun because of the oak tree.

Just glad to not be freezing all day due to the permanent opened door to the shopfloor!

Went swimming off Seaford on Tuesday, go in 2/3 a week if the winds allow :moo:

Wind has been a killer with rough seas most days before this week, moon pull also a factor. Was a wee bit hairy yesterday coming out trying not to get ‘wave-slammed.’ It’s worse at Seaford because of the sloping sea shelf, so a 4 foot wave translates into a 6 foot wave if your feet are on the bottom.

I was really feeling the cold this afternoon that I had to put my thick winter coat on and getting up is so dreadful at this time of the year that I practically shiver when I come out of the shower. Please, let's have a mild winter.

An imbalance of my blood not getting enough oxygen. Ferrous sulfate tablets do help but maybe I need to up my dosage.

Hi mate, hope you're keeping well. I'll never forget your kindness of a few years ago. I hope I'll get the chance to buy you a beer one day at the Amex?:drink:

Have to dodge the monster trucks a the moment :moo:

Every time it is a bit hotter than usual people point at the climate, every time it is a bit colder than usual it is "just weather".

Nearly all of it is just weather though. Average temperature is up like 0.2° C from last decade, it isnt something happening overnight.

Global warming or not but it's the middle of November and I saw a butterfly this morning (alive) and a ladybird this afternoon.

Plus my grass which I cut a month ago is in desperate need of another cut.

Mad.

Its not uncommon to see red admiral butterflies in my garden into November as I have a lot of Ivy which flowers around this time (it also attracts lots of hover flies & wasps).

Saw a red darter dragon fly (not sure exact variant) as well during the week. A saw one a couple of years ago in December on a warm day. Like a lot of creatures they will hibernate and as soon as its warm they come out.

What I am not sure if this would have been the same 50 years ago but is certainly more observable now.

definatly dryer and less windy than typical this autumn. October usually a half dozen storms, November is drizzle interrupted with heavy rain.

A few years ago a mild autumn kept my echium in flower till early january, and there were still bees dipping in for nectar. Weird.

Yesterday I saw the first of the spring flowers poking it's green bits out. A hyacinth.

I love a bit of weather, me

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m seriously getting miffed with the constant cold, wind and rain. I’ve just checked the 10 day forecast and it’s predicting more of the same… Any ‘weather experts’ have any ideas when it’s likely to change for the better? 🤞🏻

Well I can give you the good news, as there'll be no sign of any fog at Wembley, only what is produced from fans back firing after a few beers

October 22 to the present, it’s been a 7 months traditional English autumn/winter that goes on and on.

In contrast to the sunny and dry mild February to April’s of recent years, with drought.

My garden (on chalk) must be in shock, the soil’s moist.

Weather forecasters keep giving false dawns. Over the last few days boasting that next week will be warm and sunny. Now wound back, we’ll hit 13c in Brighton.

During Lockdown 1 in 2020, every day seemed to be sunny, windless and 21c. Amazing bike rides.

Got my t-shirts and shorts out. Middle of April is always the time. Lovely to just throw them on instead of trousers/jeans that haven't dried from the washing machine for over a day.

Six more months of this warm sunshine please.

Well that's disappointing, next week was forecast to be a heatwave a few days ago

Here's me thinking (bar the storm and few days of unsettled weather following it) its been a lovely few weeks (yes after admittedly a very wet start to spring across europe)... lovely day yesterday too, lovely morning today, looks settled the next few weeks with plenty of sun... where are you!?! 🤔
