When you want to dismiss someone for poor performance, sometimes you have to use a technicality to get them out.

No way she was forced to resign for this incident alone.

I'm fairly sure it was this together with an insistence on having books in the library that offended white supremacists. Absolutely nothing to do with poor performance.

I wouldn't be so sure - although I don't know either way.

What I do know is that Florida, under Ron De Santis, is in a bad place right now when it comes to anything other than guns, for which it's in a really bad place!

Throughout their education system anything that anyone can take to mean something other than white hetrosexual sex is pretty much banned.

Many school libraries have no books because the schools in question don't know which might fall foul of new laws.

Women's rights are being steadily eroded to levels on a par with Qatar, although I doubt we'll protest the next world cup.

Naturally that's nothing compared to minorities and the homosexual community.

Florida now is the natural result of Fox News reporting on Donny's presidency.

Even though Trump was kicked out his legacy of Supreme Court appointments will continue to stain America for years to come. It provides the environment where this kind of nonsense in Florida can thrive

The thing is, puritanism never really left their culture. It just changed and adapted to the times.

Wow! :lolol:

Also shocked that Queen Victoria insisted on a fig leaf on a copy of the sculpture, but that was over a century ago and we were a bit Victorian

Looks like a case of fake news or "Rightwing cancel culture exists", but from the article....

"local media reported that Ms Carrasquilla did not know the reason she was asked to resign, but believed it was related to the complaints over the lesson.
They also said Ms Carrasquilla had been principal for less than one year."

More like diversity hire not up to the job so makes excuses.

From the Slate article..........
As I said in the Tallahassee Democrat, based on counsel from our employment lawyer, I’m not going to get into the reasons. But this wasn’t about that one issue. That’s not the entire truth, and she knows it. The fact is, I have been working with her since she became principal, and I have supported her as principal. But as I saw how things were going, how decisions were being made, I made the decision this was the best thing for the school.

Other than the vast numbers who booted the Orange Cnt out of power.
As a casual personal observation rather than it necessarily being factual, Americans in gateway cities seem to me to be much more liberal and educated than those in less populated areas. Having been to backwaters in Texas I was genuinely staggered by the racism, bigotry and general thickness of so many Texans I met. I am not a fan of Florida either, the way they treat Indians shocked and upset me. The West Coast I loved and I think I am the only person I know and have met that is not in love with New York, nothing to do with the inhabitants, I just felt a bit meh about it

Seems a very bizarre and ridiculous reason to make it happen though, no? Surely they had something better If what you say is true?

Same with the English.

For instance, they censor every single The Simpsons episode.

Example:

Same cultural heritage where dirty words and any indication that human beings have sex are still treated like the acts of Satan.

Channel 4 broadcast The Simpsons at 5-6pm, when small children might be watching, as opposed to 8pm in the US. The original versions are available in the UK via Disney+.

Also, the removal of "wankers" is because it actually is a common swearword in the UK, whereas in the US it's not really known.
