Anyone else a fan ?

.. and can anyone else throw light on why supermarkets don't sell them ? Is the mud that puts people off ?

Not that worries me because they are in abundance in the multi cultural yoghurt knitting urban utopia where I exist.

I just feel sorry for those you have never tried them. I eat mine with a fine olive oil and Greek yoghurt,

There are the king of the baked potato varieties.

Bloody love them. Waxy and excellent roasted.

Also perplexed as to why they’re rarely sold

Never tried roasted. They are quite incredibly texturally aren't there ?

They are sort of like a waxy new potato, but I think the word "buttery" best describes them.

Like a huge new potato with all the flavour, but the nasty sweetness you get if you roast them. I've just bought a huge bag from a Turkish shop.

I also appreciate the variety in size. You can go full on main event, or side dish.

They also last for ages in the fridge.

In the kitchen
Funnily enough someone mentioned them to me just a few days ago, is the Cyprus Potato Board having a big push at the moment?

I'm going to Cyprus in October, quite looking forward to checking them out now

You've never had them ? They have a dense but creamy texture like a "dry" mashed potato. Their USP is the concentrated potato flavour.

They also have very delicate skins. From memory in Cyprus they bake them in foil.

Difficult to describe. Looks like a huge new potato (you can scrape the skin off), but with a buttery earthy taste.

There is nothing to compare them with.

I know your Claaam but not sure on the posh pronunciation? 🤣
is it silent ph ?

Left there years ago, I was there before it was trendy, when it got trendy it never really improved and now parts of the High Street resemble the arse end of Oxford Street.

I liked living there, but never got the trendy posh label ever.

Balham, particularly the area between it and "Clapham Junction" is far posher than Clapham (infinitely so) but we like to keep very quiet about it.

We have a garden centre for instance albeit next to the prison.
