I agreed with much of what the poster said, albeit not all, and I didn’t view it as right wing propaganda. It was a right wing view I partly agreed with on this particular issue - namely and specifically on Albanian gangs in the UK. I also agree with plenty of views on issues which could be considered left wing.

In this case, I think there is an issue with Albanian gangs, so that’d be a right wing view and make me a Tory presumably. Weird how it works, eh?
The eating of swans is something the Daily Mail has been writing about immigrants for a decade. If I read something with such an obvious ridiculous propagandist slant, I don’t tend to skim over it and think the rest must be true though. Which appears to be what you’ve chosen to do. Weird eh?

FFS I’ve only just updated my sub-title to “tofu eating wokerati” and now you’ve come up with something that’s arguably better.

Anyway, must be off, these Disabled Lesbian Only Knitting Competitions don’t hand out medals to every participant by themselves

The fact that I go against the leftist culture on here doesn’t instantly make me a Tory. I can’t stand the Tories. This is what black and white NSC doesn’t get.

If one takes social issues on a sensible, case by case basis by applying common sense and fact, rather than going to what the default “position” should be as either a left winger or a right winger, then they are politically agnostic. Which is what I am.

What the left has done since Corbyn is push so hard against the middle that they either join or go further right - perhaps in “protest” that they aren’t being heard - which leads the sitting government to follow suit and think it’s what the average person wants. This is how we end up with nutters like Braverman, with the Tories attempting to appease core voters with outrageous policies.

When Starmer comes in, I am hoping upon hope that things settle down. I’m thinking a lots of Labour supporters will be very disillusioned very quickly though when the planned socialist uprising doesn’t occur.

The country needs a boring, middle ground, sane government with a clever and moderate non-reactionary leader and stable moderates in his cabinet. This is what Starmer is offering as did Blair before him. Which is why he’ll win.

I'm with you. I'm deeply conservative but there are things I like about the Left (makes me choke to say it) and things I dislike about the Right. As you say, take it all on a case by case basis and I shall add, the bottom line with all of this is if you play politics like a team sport like way too many people I know, you're an idiot!

Perhaps with all your knowledgeable insight into all things to do with illegal immigration you could explain to me why the majority of illegal immigrants from Albania are coming to England? I assume they are mostly stand up people looking to make a better legal lives for themselves in England with no interest in drugs and prostitution/thievery? Just a small percentage going down this route?

I really have no idea why we should be welcoming illegal Albanians. Afghans, Iranians, Iraqis, Somalians etc I totally get.
I recall a few years ago there was a shooting in Hove involving some Albanians near Hove Town Hall. There have been a number hanging around that area for donkey’s years. There is a scary underworld not far from any of our doors.
No there isn't, its all wild exaggeration from people like me. These are all honest, law abiding, tax paying individuals, welcomed with open arms by certain people on this forum, whose comfortable lives are far removed from the ugly, sharp end of society and if they and their mates can make some sniggering, smug and condescending remark, to fit their particular agenda, then they are happy.

Has anyone denied the existence of Albanian gangs operating in the UK?

SWAN. Pluck like a chicken or goose, scald, or boil; spit, skewer in four places, and roast with all its feet and beak, and leave the head unplucked; and eat with yellow pepper.

Item, if you wish, it may be gilded.

Item, when you kill it, you should split its head down to the shoulders.

Item, sometimes they are skinned and reclothed.

RECLOTHED SWAN in its skin with all the feathers. Take it and split it between the shoulders, and cut it along the stomach: then take off the skin from the neck cut at the shoulders, holding the body by the feet; then put it on the spit, and skewer it and gild it. And when it is cooked, it must be reclothed in its skin, and let the neck be nice and straight or flat; and let it be eaten with yellow pepper. Alternatively fill a muslin bag with heroin and shove it up its arse-hole. Bake for 3 hours.
There speaks a man who has never walked along the banks of the Thames and found the partial remains of a once beautiful and protected bird. But....never mind.....keep pouring bucket loads of scorn and wallow gloriously in the swirling waters of your own smugness. Hysterically funny post.

It will help your understanding no end. Eat a swan as you convalesce and you'll be golden.
You are really letting yourself down now. The playground gang have had their fun. Time to grow up and be sensible, if that is not too difficult.

Surely Brexit is the biggest cause of this?

Sorry Mo, I will try to be more grown up and be sensible about the eating of swans.

It's a serious business.

Plenty of efforts on here to play down their impact.

Plenty? Where?

Do you believe there was/is widespread swan-eating by Eastern Europeans? If so, do you have any evidence?

Aside from the factual basis of such allegations, surely you can see why the tone of such articles in the Mail and Sun provoke the reaction they do.

Plenty of efforts on here to play down their impact.

That's right they are swanning about on here not taking the issues seriously.

Luckily we have the Daily Mail to Pen important pieces telling us what to stick our beak in and be outraged about. This is of course their signeture move.

You're on a wild goose chase trying track down all the immature behaviour on here.

The Daily Mail, Express, The Sun etc. have been writing immigrants eating swans stories for 20 years. The Sun made an apology as far back as 2003 for suggesting Asylum Seekers had been arrested for preparing to roast a swan - which didn't actually happen. Typically their source is just 'a member of the public' who saw something, in the above case because they quoted an arrest, they got into trouble because someone was actually able to check that.

What is this nonsense about eating swans? It’s just classic deflection. Just stay on topic.
