The way the first sentence of that article is worded it sounds like they want both of them. Many hands making light work or too many cooks etc. 😀
It never worked for England, maybe they could also employ Paul Scoles to focus solely on the left flank?

Football management just boggles my mind sometimes. You get sacked for being absolutely crap and 5 mins later another club offers you millions to be their manager.

Nowhere else can I think of such things happen

I expect it depends on whereabouts they are on the crapometer, obviously Leeds think either of them are a better option than Ted. Fans must be devastated 😢.

Your general point stands (and I agree with it 100%), but that article is just a lazy 'journo' fishing for clicks, rather than there being any particular chance of either Lampard or Gerrard taking over at Leeds.

The crux of their piece:

"Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and former Everton manager Frank Lampard are among the names linked with succeeding Jesse Marsch at Leeds United"

Then in the same article:

Next Leeds manager odds

*Odds via Sky Bet.
  • Carlos Corberan - 6/4
  • Mauricio Pochettino - 13/2
  • Marcelo Bielsa - 9/1
  • Ralph Hasenhuttl - 9/1
  • Ange Postecoglou - 10/1
  • Kjetil Knutsen - 10/1
  • Marcello Gallardo - 12/1
  • Nuno Espirito Santo - 16/1
  • Ruben Amorim - 16/1
  • Bo Svensson - 20/1
  • Matthias Jaissle - 20/1
  • Peter Bosz - 20/1
  • Steven Gerrard - 20/1
  • William Still - 20/1
  • Andrea Pirlo - 25/1
  • Domenico Tedesco - 25/1
  • Ernesto Valverde - 25/1
  • Michael Carrick - 25/1
  • Rafa Benitez - 25/1
  • Vincent Kompany - 25/1
  • Brendan Rodgers - 40/1
  • Frank Lampard - 50/1
So Lampard's not even in the top 20 'candidates' for the job and Gerrard's not in the top 10.

It's the epitome of a non-story.

It's the epitome of a non-story.
The story is the wind up between the Scouse press and Leeds fans.
They know the two people that would wind up the Yorkies most would be the appointment of either Lampard (because of Derby incident) or Gerrard.
Which is why they've used it as a headline.

Arne Slot ( a machine of a manager) the odds on favourite now to be the new Leeds boss...

Annoyingly, he'd be a great appointment as he's done really well at Feyenoord since taking over from Dick Snowball

Not a chance they're getting Pochettino. Lots of absolutely deluded Leeds fans out there, but we knew that. & if Postecoglou was going to leave Celtic i'd think he wouldnt go for a relegation scrap in exchange for winning trophies in Scotland.

Winning trophies in Scotland is not such a big deal these days - Celtic....and Rangers too - are both big clubs, but in a league a long way below the PL; the money up there (even for the old firm) is minimal compared to the PL, so you can bet your boots that Postecoglou will look for a move up to the PL (or Europe).
Maybe not Leeds, and maybe not now, but one day ................................

Oh yeah for sure Scottish Prem to English Prem is a massive step up. An enormous step up. Im just saying similar to you in that switching now for the Leeds job in a relegation battle might not be the specific move that tempts him.

Tuchel would suit Leeds and be entertaining as well. He's got an over-inflated opinion of himself, and is more than a bit unhinged.

The way he squeezed Conte's hand after their match was special.

Worked out well for Stevie G...

I can still remember all the talk being that he was going to he'd be mad to leave Rangers for Aston Villa because he was onto a good thing. A lot of people were saying he should wait for the Liverpool job. Although, quite frankly, he might get a better tune out of that mob at the moment than Kloppo!
