He handed them a stop start game, Billings & mates spent the game throwing themselves to floor, fake head injuries, wasting time.

I'd like to think they only added 4 mins to punish Bournemouth for their incessant, unpunished time-wasting and gamesmanship throughout, but it was obviously going to be 4 regardless of the scoreline.

Kept raising his watch and tapping it to show he was adding time then added only 5 minutes.

4 minutes. @e77 ran a stopwatch from 90 mins and he played 3 mins 55 seconds extra.

Also, wtf was that drinks break/time out midway through the first half all about? So blatant, any half decent ref would have cottoned on to what they were doing.

Honestly think Pawson is one of the few more even handed and competent refs in the league. He didn't have a great game today but he could have done far worse.

Yep, it is the ref.
Law 7.3 says inter alia “…The fourth official indicates the minimum additional time decided by the referee at the end of the final minute of each half…”

Interesting! Especially as a Bmuff player was down with cramp for at least 30 seconds. I think the ref definitely thought it was pay-back time for all Bmuff’s time-wasting. And he basically gave up when the East Stand were mucking around by keeping the ball!

He’s consistently frustrated though. Take the push on Veltman second half in front of the dugouts that they nearly score from, and yet he’d given a whole host of fouls for far less contact. Same with one on Welbeck near the corner flag first half.
It’s bizarre because it’s not like he’s missed them, it’s how he judges them, slightest touch one minute is a foul, an all out assault next minute isn’t.
I noted the players were a lot more frustrated with the ref this week than last too because of that lack of consistency.

Agreed we have the best players and managers from around the world but have Conference standard refs.
