5 goals and 3 assists was a great first season for Izquierdo. However he came back from the world cup injured and I think we tried to rush him back which led to even longer out and he was never the same player again. He could be, somewhat harshly, considered a failure for the money we spent but that was because of injuries rather than anything to do with his ability.

Someone send it to Andy Jacobs. He'd love it 😀

Izquierdo was a fabulous player imo. Two goals against WHU and the team goal against Stoke as the standouts. Any player that can get you off your seat as he runs at players cannot be called a failure imo. I was a big fan and gutted for him and us that injuries did for his career. I would love to have seen a fit Jose in an RDZ Albion team.

Mouthwatering stuff. Please no-one wake me up!
I do kind of miss that from my vantage point.
But wouldn't swap for feeling like being in touching distance to Mitoma last week.

Know what you mean. Since moving to the West Upper from the family stand where we were about halfway up, we have lost that immediacy and can feel a little remote from the field. However I absolutely love the view up there, we can see the tactical side far more clearly and the sheer poetry of some of our football is simply beautiful to behold.
