Had to drop off some work gear for recalibration in Shoreham around midday, absolute stairrods - went to Sainsbury's to fuel up a few minutes later and lots of the car park access roads under water.

At time like these I'm glad I live on top of a hill and not the bottom!
I dont wish to get political, but I emailed my local councillor today, about the prospect of replacing lost trees in the road, which drink lots of rain, provide shade etc. . I think the benefits are well documented. . . . We've had 2 more cut down this week and one fell today, they're old . . . This last summer the cooling effect was incredible. We need more, and a tree lined street is a gem.

I got a detailed positive response about 3 hours later. . . The 2 cut down will be replaced and I personally am happy to do as much as I can, ie pay, if I have to, for a new tree to be planted outside our gaff. . . . Frankly its in everyones interests to be doing this . . . .always shown on developments, but rarely executed

Just kicked off again here, I think it's what the pro's refer to, like Potter results, as 'patchy' ;-)

I heard a noise akin to an explosion in the distance about half an hour ago, l was unaware that it had even started raining, l was out in the garden in the sunshine this morning!

Just back from fishing on the river near Henfield. A few rumbles of thunder and some very dark clouds about in the last couple of hours. Absolutely lashed it down on the way home
