Wonderful talent who sadly is now embarrassing to watch. I wish she would retire gracefully and quietly - today - and keep what is left of her dignity and legacy.

According to Kenny McCormick, Madonna is "an old anorexic whore who wore out her welcome years ago, and that now she suddenly speaks with a British accent and she thinks she can play guitar and she should go f*** herself."

That episode itself is pretty old. Certainly summed up my feelings at the time, though I think she has got less annoying since, though that may just be me not noticing her.

All downhill since desperately seeking Susan, brief uptick for the William orbit remixes.

Not seen her perform for 10 years. May I ask, is she embarrassing because she is dressed like a teenager and attempting to dance, or because she looks and acts like a woman in her early 60s? If the former then yes, it's only a matter of time before the opiates needed to keep the dancer's joint pain in check will get her like it got Jackson and Prince. If the latter, then good on her.

In the meantime....this is magical

Not after this:

That is grim but is it real? It is as easy to autotune to make singing sound bad as it is to tweak it better. How did someone get hold of the pre-autotune track?

I just had a read down the page on Youtube. Someone posted this:

"In reality, it's BOTH tuning. During the live broadcast they used live autotune. However, the engineer had set the tuning to an incorrect (possibly major) key. Autotune needs to be set to the key that the song is in, which will allow the effect to "pull" vocals up or down, towards the closest note that follows that key. The live autotune being set to an incorrect key caused all of Madonna's notes that were somewhat off to be pulled to a note that fit the incorrectly set key, making them sound even worse because the autotune key wasn't compatible with the actual song key. So in that sense, they achieved the opposite of making her sound good. In later edits of the performance, all of this was corrected in post-production by re-tuning the vocals in Melodyne."

Hail the Madge! :lolol:

As I’ve been mocked for here previously  I love a bit of Madonna, have seen her live six times across three tours, own all the albums etc etc.

It’s the former. Reading her social media posts (I know, I know) and seeing the comically filtered pictures with the “latest” hair and make up styles and adopting hip txt speak which would make her kids cringe.

Rather than aging appropriately, she is in absolute denial about the reality of things. “Madame X” has been a bit of a disaster by every metric (sales, engagement, creatively) and even long-time fans like myself as just a bit uncomfortable with her playing an 18 year old when she is coming to her 65th birthday.

It’s just big Norma Desmond vibes and we all know how that ended.

Really? OK, thanks for the heads up. What a shame. I should have guessed she'd lost her cutting edge when it became evident to me that unlike so many of today's iconic female singers she hasn't had a Witch House remix. Like this:

I took my wife to see her in concert back in 2001. Not my cup of tea but she was OK and certainly better than some of the other shite I have been dragged to see such as Mariah Carey.

When she first came through, I was young, single and going out with a girl who was a dead ringer, I even bought her a leather jacket on the back of Papa Don't preach

Stunning, sexy and a complete psychopath as was often the way with young love. Consequently, still have a bit of a soft spot for that early Madonna stuff.

As Frank Skinner once said, she’s got the face of a punched block of Brie.
What about her hit records, her movies and general influence on popular culture in the 80’s and 90’s?
