Yep, perhaps football fans are just posher these days as well. Ticket price hikes have probably changed the demographics of a typical home crowd containing more casual football supporters.

Walking up to the ground from the direction of Bridge Car Park it's practically all Twickers-demographic clusters of mums and dads and kids. Absolutely nowt wrong with that of course. But the Amex is the new Pirates Deep. Short of inventing a Time Machine, it's only going to get more so

The simple matter of winning some home games would help.

As a season ticket holder I missed the Brentford game on Boxing Day because of transport.
Therefore I haven't seen us win a home game since 19th September (against Leicester).

Even when we went 2-0 up against Southampton I didn't feel confident and unfortunately was proved correct.
Some home wins will give belief back to the fans and create confidence and noise. However confidence and noise is what's needed to help the players get the wins. It's a revolving problem.
Just win at home FFS!

Sorry I can't go along with this... as fans our job is to support and lift the team even when we are playing badly; in fact particularly when we are playing badly. Our away support is good at this but at home we aren't good enough...

Tourists. Day happy clapper half fans also. Stood out when trying to get the 'everywhere we go, watching Brighton and Hove Albion' chant. No one really bothered to get involved and the idiot behind decided to sing the same bloody songs. Only hear it away and never see most near me on away days, says a lot.

That's a bit naïve! We have had some cracking atmosphere at the Amex but it is invariably when we are doing well. It was the same at the Goldstone and at Withdean (we never did well at Gillingham!).

The crowd are normally pretty good at the start of a game but then if the play is slow and/or we don't score early the atmosphere dissipates and only improves when something exciting happens. You cannot compare home atmosphere with away. When we go away, it's a day out, a few drinks etc and the fans are all in one relatively small area.

THe club lost its ideas man when Tom Gorringe left.....
Also agreed.

I said on the thread a few weeks back but the design for the new outside space looks absolutely dreadful. Hopefully it was just a mock up and they consult a few people before doing whatever it is they are going to do

Here are a few popular ideas that could improve the atmosphere at the Amex, which of these are worth trialling?

???

Pre Match/Half Time DJ - DJ on the pitch to generate some tub thumping tunes to get supporters psyched for the big game.

Theme Days - It worked before but not something we do anymore but bring back theme days, we could have things like 1920's circus, P party, american idols, super hero day etc

Singing Section - A dedicated singing section in the North Stand, or one close to the away supporters.

A band/orchestra in the stadium - Generates a wonderful atmosphere at England games, could be trialled at the Amex to whip the crowd into a frenzy and provide a backing track to sing along to.

Club to provide new chants/song sheets - Employees within the club to come up with some new and unique to us songs for us to sing and handout songsheets so everyone knows the words.

Involve the audience in P.A announcements

Unreserved seating in certain areas - Allows groups of friends to sing together who may be more likely to sing as a group.

BHAFC Choir

Squad players to mingle with and encourage fans to get behind the boys pre match

Any other suggestions?
Put the chances away ?
