You seem to know what you're talking about (and I apologise/didn't intend to tar you all with the same brush earlier on), but many leave voters don't care about the detail even though that is what is crucial, so I'm afraid I do continue to blame many of them. At the very least, we needed to stay in the customs union, thereby allowing seamless freedom of movement in Ireland which would have been a very small price to pay. In addition, a fee to access the single market should have been sensibly debated amongst Brexiteers, and not left for the head bangers on the extreme right like JRM to ignore.

Johnson and his useless government will be remembered as the very worst we've ever had in most people's living memory - they are all absolutely useless - and they have lumbered us with a Brexit deal that is in nobody's best interest.

who would be bj's contenders? eden, camberlain? (two tories!)

He has nothing to offer on this or any other area of debate. It's just about repeating the same mantra with a couple of pathetic cliched sideswipes thrown in for good measure.

but actually zero (none) substance! not nearly none, none! :lolol::lolol::lolol:

and he's a zealout!

Fans of The Truss really must listen to the first 4 minutes of this week's Bugle.

Mark Steel absolutely smashes our feelings of The Truss-a-ton out of the park.

As it's Steel (despite everything, a comedian I have a lot of time for) and Hari Kondobolu the whole episode is very good.

Because we voted to leave, duh!

Which means, if you follow that logic through, if you voted for getting kicked in the balls every morning it would be better than not getting kicked in the balls every morning purely because you voted for it.

It's genius. GENIUS

I prefer the analogy that if people voted for guaranteed weight loss, amputation being the only option is better than no weight loss.

As the media drifts respectively away from Mornhub. It is probably a good time to bounce this thread;

Is there a new leader bounce? or a dead cat bounce?
Is this a fresh start for the government or more of the same?
How special is the special relationship right now?
Could Jeremy Corbyn have bought the pound any lower?
Who is the more wooden LT or sKS?

Is there any cause for optimism other than
The Ukrainians pushing back the Russians?
The new Bob DZ era of possession football?
The tantalising prospect of a new NSC golden age of technology?

It might help if she learnt how to string a sentence together.

There was a marked contrast between the two readings in the funeral service yesterday. Lady Scotland powerfully reading something that she clearly understood, Liz Truss weakly sounding as if she didn’t have a clue about what her reading meant.

PS - her reading is arguably about inclusivity and there being room for everybody - not concepts which would seem to matter much to Ms Truss.

A conversation that I overheard a few days ago.

Person 1. "You've worked with these new people, Truss, Kwarteng, Braverman and Cleverly, are they all just complete narcissists ?"
Person 2. "Cleverly isn't so bad"
Person 1. "What, he sticks to his political principles ?"
Person 2. "Well I wouldn't say principled"
Person 1. "There must be someone in Cabinet that you know who actually sticks to what they believe in"
Person 2. "Well, you may be surprised but Steve Baker is a nice bloke who tends to stick to his beliefs"
Person 1. "So he actually sticks to his political beliefs"
Person 2. "I think so, yes .............................. unfortunately batshit crazy, but probably principled"

I for one am completely reassured that while 30 odd years of evidence suggest the trickle down effect is complete fallacy that Truss will so truly embrace monetarism that it actually works.

I found this to be an odd picture. Just generally odd staging. If you got an envelope and wrote “awkward lady” on it and stuck it in a post box, it would get to her.

Tbf it easily gets awkward when the King of England is approaching you with a gesture that might mean "hug me", "dance with me" or possibly just "hello".

Ha! His is an odd pose. Like a game show host.

I don't think the POTUS is a big fan of trickle down economics either, let alone undermining the Good Friday Agreement. Still at least her good mate Macron was there to help her out today.
