Since most of the other likely candidates got their own threads and this Dane has been quite high on the bookies lists for a week now, he might also deserve his own thread.

Who is he? While I've seen a bit of Mainz, I don't know too much about the bloke. Must have Swedish heritage though, or he'd be "Bo Svendsen". Always a plus.

Former central defender, used to play under Klopp and Tuchel in Mainz. Flexible (but pretty much always with 3 at the back) manager advocating high-press football. No idea if he's one to use academy players etc.

Possession is nice but goals are better and you have a much better chance of scoring one in transition in the oppositions half having won the ball back on the press than by Sanchez, Dunk and Webster playing endless 10 yard triangles in their own half while Burnley or whoever sit back and watch.

I still have nightmares about that Burnley match... We could have played until the end of time and still not scored. Burnley looked like world beaters too, which was annoying. Mainly because they were, in fact, crap

According to a paywall blocked Bild (German paper) article that seems difficult to access in any way, their director of sports says Svensson isn't going anywhere. If those are hopes or if they actually have the tools (you're-not-going-anywhere written into the contract) I don't know.

Generally speaking it would be a huge turn-off as most of them want to play dire (but efficient football), though that is changing. Graham Potter had massive impact on how football is played in Sweden these days, but the best and most experienced ones here are still from the Hodgson school. In Norway, Drillo destroyed a generation of managers though they are also recouperating now as well.

We're famous for boring the shit out of neutral football fans and the reputation is not undeserved.

Danes are a different fiver. They're most often, and always has been, inspired by Dutch and German total football, not 1970s English football. If someone like Roland Nilsson came in, against all odds, I'd scream and run off to Chelsea or Brentford or Stoke or Millwall or anyone playing a more progressive and brave style of football...

No chance of TB going for a pragmatist. He fired an attritional coach and took a chance on Potter, which couldn’t have gone better and proved a point.

I would guess that Tony has made entertainment a box that any on Barber’s short list will have to tick.
