Time for him to put in a transfer request, that'll do it

Article suggests he wants to go to Spain or Italy.

Signing an established top six player is always likely to be a problem with wages, I would imagine. The article suggests that the deal didn't happen because the player didn't want to come here - perhaps he didn't fancy the drop in wages?

It's a possibiity (as are umpteen other reasons why he's not coming).

I think the accepted etiquette is to decide the fee ourselves and only offer that lowball amount ? And bung Fabrizio to say how unhappy the player is. lol.

Both of his parents are from Zamora! It's a sign. Better than being Calvin Philips bestie.

Don't mind. Been a bit up and down for Spurs but could still improve and succeed in the right environment.

Think it is unlikely though.

To many l'm afraid we will always be little ol' Brighton.

Not surprised, Spurs are desperate to get rid of him along with Winks, Ndombele and Lo Celso and we have a well know vacancy at LB, they should be pushing him to us. We'll be continually linked with every LB available but we obviously have a good relationship with Spurs at board level too so it's an obvious link.

To be honest I hope there is something in it as I quite like him.

This rumour has come around again.

Makes sense in terms of his very high quality prior to being turned all spursy.

The problem is the salary. Surely he was on £100k+ pw?

They pay the lowest salaries out of the Big Six though so if he we offered a salary equivalent to Lallana/Dunk money…..????

With Madrid and Spurs being his two previous clubs he will definitely be on money that is at least in line with our highest earners, probably more. The Spurs fans i know seem to think he's decent going forward but has fallen out of favour because his defending/positioning is very suspect. As a LWB he's maybe be a good option, but not so much as a left back in a back 4. I feel we'll want someone who can do both.

Not sure overpaying wages at LB / LWB position is part of the plan

Not sure that Cucu was bought as someone who could do both. Just learnt while he was here.
