Kick off for our loanees around the country today.

Roberts playing for Derby - they've already decided he's a LB, not a CB it seems!
Rushworth starting (of course!) for Lincoln - conceded one already. :(
Weir on the bench at Morecambe.
Jenks on the bench for Crawley.
Richards on the bench for QPR.

Also Marc Leonard on the bench at Northampton.

So basically lot's of bench warming going on. Early days of course.
Yes - a couple of them will hardly have time to have learned the names of their team mates! Still, Jenks came on for a 20 minute cameo, and Richards for a slightly shorter one.

Exciting times for some of outr young loanees today - first starts for Weir and Jenks, and also starts for Roberts and Rushworth. Khadra and Leonard on the bench, but Richards nowhere to be seen for QPR - hope he didn't get injured in the medical again!
And Shane Duffy had just about enough time to trot on to the pitch at Fulham and trot off again about a minute later!

Perhaps not such exciting times after all! Jenks and Weir both played the full 90, but were on the losing sides. Marc Leonard came on for a few minutes at the end for his Northampton debut.
Best result would be young Rushworth keeping a clean sheet along the coast at Fratton Park.

Watching the Edinburgh derby whilst waiting for our match to start and it struck me, after all that fanfare last summer about a partnership with Hibs, we've still not sent a single loanee there.

...and perhaps less surprisingly we haven't had a single one of theirs!

The apparant lack of anything happening in this 'partnership' (apart from a young keeper coming down for a few weeks last summer) has been well and truly noted (and mocked!) in certain quarters up in Scotland!

Young mr Connolly missing the cup game against Ascoli today. Lots of Covid cases in the Venezia squad so I'm guessing that's the reason.

I think the deal probably wasn't helped by us sending Alex Cochrane on loan to Hearts about a month later...

The "foreigners":
Connolly missed Venezias game (along with like 12 other players) in the cup due to Covid.
Zeqiri started for Basel in the top meeting against Young Boys (0-0) and was substituted in the 75th minute
Sima missed Angers game against Nantes due to hamstring issues...

Yeah they changed sporting director shortly afterwards and the "partnership" died with that.
