And when he loses a couple of matches ? Just look at NSC a few months back.

Folk need to think a lot more soberly. They were due a nasty defeat at some point.

Did Germany sack Rudi Voller after we beat them 5-1 ? They went to the final the following year. I don't think Graham would succeed as England manager. He wouldn't have enough time with the players to get them playing his methods. That's why Southgate is a good fit. A lot of it is manager likeability within the group.

Will Italy sack their manager tonight ? France there's ?

You're wasting your time on this thread with those comments, which will now predictably explode now that lots on here have got their wish.

Southgate = Palace and that's that. Furthermore, it's England.

I'll leave them to it.

Any of you Southgate fans want to chip in?

Yep, ideal choice for England. See previous posts. A lot of successful international managers aren't the best tacticians. Look at the records of many of the successful ones.

Perfectly happy with him in role. As Kane is just saying, it's a night to forget but not indicative of a decline. Just take it on the chin. Good job one person is keeping their head. Look at where they've come from.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

I can only imagine that the players, most of whom are coached by the finest club mangers in the world, have finally realised Southgate doesnt have a clue.

They look like they didnt know what they were supposed to do. That's after a 15 day get together.

of course we are rubbish but so is competition. Can tell how serious teams are taking it by sides put out. At least De Bruyne said what many others were thinking

Luckiest England manager ever….. getting found out

He needs to stay in the role though, unless Potter does a dual role.

Considering Southgate was a defender, that is arguably the weakest area of the team, disorganised, wrong personnel….

He is a clueless numpty but he gets my vote to carry on

I was only joking.

For GP’s sake, I wouldn’t want him taking that job until he’s years more experience, perhaps coached a CL team to some success.

I think England have peaked. The side at the last WC was exciting.

Foden’s surrounded by the most expensive side ever assembled on the planet for his club, Bellingham will probably be a great player. Rice too.

But Stones, Pickford, Maguire, Trippier, Phillips, Tomori, etc are huge liabilities. Ward-Prowse, Calvert-Diver and Watkins aren’t proper internationals.

Light years behind their equivalents in our recent past - Ferdinand, Terry, Cole, Campbell, Bridge, G.Neville.

Quality teams in the heat of Qatar will take us apart defensively.

I wasn't sure that you were serious. But the GP question from many is.

I just don't think it would be a success for him. He needs players week on week. It's just my uneducated view. But I can't see him being a success if ever it came to it.
