...so what did you really mean when you said you're not allowed to have opinions on players?

Is it hard for you that someone might react to your opinion with another opinion?

That would be quite amusing, were your most noteworthy contribution to this thread not the below post, after which you sulked off like a toddler for a few days.

Why would I "admit" he is "worse" than anyone because his "incidents" (sleeping with a woman, telling his ex or gf that he didnt want her to be on Love Island, and now getting screamed at)? I give a shit about what he does, not how many times he appears in the papers. And as I see it all these incidents are very, very minor things.

You are a complete psycho as seen in the match thread about Swansea where you gave him shit for cupping his ears against the Swansea fans that had been mocking him the whole game. You are obsessed with bashing this young man, and you are not the only one taking every opportunity to do it. As I've said before it is completely sickening and tells a whole ****ing lot about how useless you and some others are as human beings.

**** you, and **** the whole lot of you determined to hate a person because he didnt live up to your expectations as a footballer. You make me sick.

(might get banned for this, dont care, feel free, pretty much every sensible person on NSC already had enough and left, so)

I had a 30k English to Swedish translation job with a short deadline that regardless how much I tried wasn't going to to do itself. Sorry for not being available 24/7 365 days a year.

No denying it felt like a good opportunity and wise decision to take some time to get some necessary shit done but in normal cases I could go on in a heated debate for DAYS as I am somewhat stubborn... and it surprises me that you haven't noticed.

I disagree with people saying this loan has been no good for anyone involved. I actually think it could prove to be the wake up call to Connolly if he wants it to be. If he wants to be a Premier League player then he has to do and be a LOT better. It might prove the kick up the arse he actually needs to get himself sorted out. It's up to him. He can't blame anyone else, he has been given every opportunity he could ask for - he needs to start taking them.

It's definitely a potential scenario. He was probably expecting to go there and tear up the Championship. If he has any self-awareness he should now be thinking 'Shit, I couldn't even do it there, no wonder I struggle in the Premier League, I really do need to make some serious changes if I'm going to succeed'.

Have to say I don't hold out much hope, but you never know.

Bollocks.

People pretend to give a shit because they want justificiations to be as harsh as possible towards a player they dont feel is good enough.

If Bissouma lost his drivers license because he was caught driving too fast five times and made no apology, people would "forgive" (ignore) him the next time he dismantled some opponent midfield. Or if Jack Grealish broke Covid rules or smashed his car somewhere due to careless driving, he would be "forgiven" once it was obvious he could win England a tournament.
Bollocks as you put it or not, his total lack of contrition for busting the Covid rules that the people who pay his wages stuck to shows that he really doesn't give a toss.

He's a character who I totally dislike and I'll be very happy when he finally sods off to another club.

Not the only Brighton player though. Ben White had pictures on his social media in the same house / kitchen as Aaron did when indoor mixing was not allowed. At least 1 other player had a private chef in to do a big BBQ for his friends and family during the Euros when mixing of households indoors was still limited to 2 households / 6 people.... All could easily be seen on social media at the time

I don't either, to be perfectly honest. But there's no reason he can't realise what he's got and want to turn it around. The Premier League is the place to be and when you've been there at 18, it must be hard to face up to not being there a couple of years later and everyone (pretty much) thinking you've already your best days in your career. There's a long time left and it might be all one way if he doesn't sort himself out.

I am unaware of any of that - if the details become public beyond social media then maybe others need to apologise - and then if they see fit not to then perhaps we should wave goodbye to them as well.

It depends on his mindset. He can either realise how much harder this all is than he first thought, and what sacrifices he needs to make to get himself up to speed, or he can blame everyone else but himself and carry on as he is, which is a one way ticket to the lower leagues.

It would be absolutely amazing if he did the former and made it work, it really would. But I know which option my money would be on, and I suspect the club have similar thoughts.

Out of interest, how do you judge "total lack of contrition"? How do you know he didn't apologise to the club when it was taken up with him? My understanding is, he was taken to task and dealt with appropriately by the disciplinary procedures of the club. Given that the club deals with everything in house, what are you expecting? A personal letter to you, stained in tears and apologising for not meeting your standards?

Maybe he should try a year abroad somewhere. Germany perhaps.

Ideal. Hoffenheim. A dull town about the size of Steyning in the middle of nowhere. However; we tucked them up with Locadia for half a season so they might be wary of us.

Not ideal. St Pauli. Next door to the Reeperbahn. Possibly a bad idea to send him there.

Not necessarily. He’s very unlikely to have the paps chasing him, but they will be after Lucinda. In her role, she needs to stay in the media to stay relevant. Wouldn’t be a surprise if the paps were being tipped off by people within her camp about where they’re going to be or leaking stories about them.

Who is Lucinda? I am so far behind/disinterested.

I guess you choose whether or not you want to court the media. There are plenty of other 22-year-old fringe premier league players who don't seem to have any trouble.

I wouldn't knock any player on here except to say.
At THAT 'Boro game, after FT I saw a current player totally distraught and crying with his family, tears of frustration that he couldn't get us over the line. That he had let the fans and club down.

I would never publicly name that player, some things are sacred, but it is hard to imagine Connolly doing that.

I think it says a lot Potter binned him off only to promote a 17 year old to the first team bench, he’s probably had enough to. A player who hasn’t done a lot and then had a strop when not in the starting line up isn’t thinking about the team at all.

I think he would really struggle getting a game in a BL1 team.
