I think Solly has been one of our better players today

Really?
What did he add?

Caicedo would have been better instead of Bissouma who's head seems to have been turned. Been off his normal level last couple of games.

Did I not enjoy that.

Our attacking at times is like a damp squib.

Potter sets us up to control games. Burnley from the start didn't allow it. We still though persisted with the slow play. He s often credited with formation changes etc but rarely tempo changes. Today we lost it by the tactics.

Potter was to blame, he's learning his craft and now needs to take a good look at how we deal when confronted with a team prepared to "have a go" We often fail to deal with them.

Tried to make things happen. Went forward instead of sideways. Can’t comment on Caicedo as he didn’t play

We looked like a championship side today. The whole team was off and badly. No desire, fight or energy which is a necessity when playing Burnley. L

My concern is the same thing happened against Spurs 2 weeks ago too

To be honest, I'm not too fussed about finishing between 9th and 15th, so I wasn't too disappointed.
In the last few years every point seemed to be vital in the annual survival battle.
The players just had a really bad day today. It happens, and Burnley were more up for it today for obvious reasons.

Massively missed Webster bring it out from the back today. No movement, no idea, clueless performance.

Got a load of shit from 3 Burnley after whilst I’m walking with my 7 year old for no reason, didn’t like it when they got some back

To be honest today was true to our usual form, that of glorious defeats against the 'big' six, and insipid languid displays against teams we should be looking pretty good against... We've managed to reverse that trend a little this season, so as a horrible one off I can take it. As a one off it's acceptable to a degree... but then again, I wasn't there and didn't pay my hard earned cash to watch certain players dial in a performance akin to some kind of horrible music project recorded by ageing rockers based different continents... Zero chemistry, zero fire... zero points...

To quote Willy Wonka "you deserve nothing, you get NOTHING."

Today felt a little like the lord mayors show was a couple of months gone, the bunting hanging limply in the wind, grimly clinging to a vestige of it's former glory as it gradually loses it's grip on the faux Victorian lamppost to which it was tied with a distant glee... whilst last autumns' leaves blow around the deserted band stand. Spring might be on the horizon, but today, I'm dodging damp piles of dog shit as I tiptoe my way to the church with spire, to kneel and pray that our seven match unbeaten run wasn't some kind of distant delirious dream.

The way we played, not with 10000 players would we have won - any hope was an utter folly.

I await a response.

I'm not Potter Out, not blaming any individual players or the like but goodness that was dire.

I cant believe i just went all the way to the Amex for that - even got there an hour and half early cos i stupidly fell for the rubbish about there being no trains. Wish I had left an hour and a half before the end. Reminiscent of the Hyypia season.

Why are we so shit at home? Why can we never beat Burnley at home? Of all the ****ing teams to lose to (except Palace of course). Very pissed off. Poor team selection - selling Burn doesnt look too clever right now. Veltman had a mare. Duffy was no better. They had 3 shots and scored 3. Pathetic.

Nail on head. It should have been a category X game- in which we got royally shafted

I’m not a big fan of Duffy at the best of times as his poor distribution causes us problems but he has looked like a pub player today, all over the show. Yes they’ve all been poor but he’s looked totally out of place.
You don't like him do you! [emoji1][emoji1]

101% this. With no Webster and no Dunk we could have done with Burn so much.

Possession is pointless when you pass around the back without **** all progression
It's been coming... but without Burn, we have no dynamism in the back line. We know Dunk and Duffy gave us sluggish progression,... therefore, I fear this may be the ongoing theme for the season.

I agree. But my point was twofold.

We had 69% possession and didn't score.
The opposition had 31% possession, yet we couldn't prevent them scoring 3.

That's very direct, effective, efficient use of the little possession that Burnley had.

Route 1 football hurt us. We had a few CBs out (either suspended, injured or sold), including the captain, and we folded.
