I have never booed our players and never will but

Graham has to understand the fans frustration FFS. Coming out on radio complaining about this displays a lack of emotional intelligence in him not the fans and he's the guy with the masters.

I love him and think he's doing an amazing job but the history lesson comment came out as smarmy to me and won't do him any favours.

He’s starting a ruck with a few hundred people venting their spleen, and he wouldn’t have a clue why they’re booing.

A patronising comment about history indicates hyper sensitivity, in the heat of the moment unable to process that the vast majority appreciate his work.

Dummy spit? We're 8th having played 2 of the big 3 in those first 13 games, and people are booing a DRAW?

Anyone would be pissed off at that reaction.
We've not won our last 9 games and drew against a bang average side.

I don't think booing was justified but there's no need to be so sensitive about it. Once again he's got us in a pretty shit run of form and back into the habit of last season where we fail to win despite dominating and making good chances.

If a couple of hundred out of 25000 want to boo so be it. GPot has spent well over a hundred million and we're still watching Maupay miss open goals and Locadia pretend to be a pro footballer ffs

Bang average side drawing a bang average side

Doubt Potter has spent all that much money.

£15m Cucurella, £20m Webster, £20m Maupay, £2m Lamptey, £16m Trossard, £8m+ Moder, £1m Veltman

For him to have the audacity to mock our history because a handful of fans booed is pretty shocking imho. How many of our managers have a side as good as this?

You're right in terms of latest results but the fact is we are 8th, so only seven teams in the land are better than us. We've won more than we've lost and didn't actually play badly today. Booing that side at the end of that game is absolutely embarrassing and Potter has every right to be pissed off at it imo.

He had a pop after another draw; against West Brom 2 seasons back. I love him, but having a go at your own supporters is never a good idea. It definitely came across as patronising.

As much as I respect his annoyance at the booing, I have to agree with you at his choice of words. What has history got to do with anything? As has been said before, maybe he should check how well backed he's been financially before comparing his side to those past Albion sides.

Exactly,
Many on here have a go about how entitled fans of other clubs are.

We won't be 8th when every game in this round has been played.
If he can't see what the boos are about, then we will continue to miss sitters.
Supporters pay for the privilage of letting their opinions be known, suck it up.
I just watched the replay, which was itself a replay if many of last season's games.
We have to get a striker and a good one.

Fans and now a (just passing through) manager shouldn’t jump to reference the days we were paupers.

We’ll never forget, but at some stage let’s entirely move on. It begins to sounds silly, very irrelevant to the hear and now in 2021.

We’ve been a Championship and EPL club with a vast budget for over a decade now.

We might be - I'd already checked that...

Brentford v Everton
Leicester City v Watford
Chelsea v Manchester United

That's a tough one for Everton, but a one goal win would do it.
Watford can be anything, but Leicester need to win by three to go above us.
Manchester United shouldn't have too much hope at a rampant Chelsea.

(I appreciate I've now jinxed us and we'll be 11th this time tomorrow)

I agree the club is an entirely different beast these days. It annoys me when Barber brings up Withdean on talkshite after a bad run. Why can’t it just be a bad run & agree fans get frustrated

Potter would of been better off saying I can understand the frustration and we will do everything to improve.

Didn’t he have a toys out of the pram about us fans, circa Feb 2020?

Although I rather think it was the fans who threw the bigger toys.

My family know me as someone that gets very emotionally involved with a game . Usually getting very frustrated that leads to angry.

This evening I let my son and daughter use my tickets and watched the game on the box.

This evening's game has been the calmest I've ever been watching a game because I had already prepared myself that we wouldn't score. It is now as predictable as us not signing a competent striker in the transfer window. Ever since the Murray/Michael-Smith debacle of our first season at the Amex I have lost complete faith in those that make striker recruitment decisions within the club. Every transfer window just reinforces this.

Neal Maupay was pretty good at everything today apart from where we needed him most. The problem is even if he starts scoring, we know, miss one chance and he'll descend into the can't hit a barn door hell of his own making. He really is this emotionally fragile. However to replace him with Locadia !!! How can this be good for the team, Maupay or Locadia. This substitution made the team worse, destroyed any shreds of Maupay's confidence and reminded everyone including Locadia why he is not fit for the purpose. He can't even run which is pretty important for a professional footballer.

Seriously are the same guys recruiting our strikers now who decided that Michael-Smith was a better fit than Murray who scored 31 goals for Palace, after we kicked him out, in their promotion season?

I adore Tony Bloom and I commend so much about this club and especially Graham Potter but the elephant in the room is getting surely too big to ignore now.
