I am open always have been, my main issues have been close family deaths and serious health conditions close to home too, which I am sure many else have faced or facing. I am a very empathetic guy, but faced with insults I will fight rather than fly.
Quite a few picked up on my neurotypical type and pressed this hard by putting me down, hence my rearing of 'stop the bullies'. It was never a poor me cry, although of course, it was unpleasant, it was a protection mechanism for all neurodiverse people who get this stuff thrown at them on social media.
Can anyone on here really say they like to be constantly put down by a number of people?
There is plenty of other stuff going on, but there are far worse off people than me out there.

So if you do see anything that is written badly, I try my best, but it is my weakest link in life by far, I do have plenty that tip the scales in abundance in other directions, please bear that in mind in your decisions when moderating me.

I'm 'neuratypical' and I suspect I am far from alone on NSC. This means that reading people is very hard for me, especially when people are mucking about, particularly if they are being mucking about in an unpredictable way (up to, and including, trolling).
Having taken you off 'ignore' recently, I'd now be happy to shake your hand.
I've got into a fair bit of trouble (at work and in my private live) for ill-judged comments, mostly done for comedic effect, or for outrageous rudeness in moments of unguarded annoyance (ahem) and I've realised that I'm ill-suited to social media if there is minimal curation. Again, I suspect I'm far from alone in this regards.
Fortunately NSC is highly curated so I feel 'safer' and not under attack all the time.
In return for the privilage of being allowed to post I am trying harder to avoid getting into silly spats with people, and be generally nicer and kinder when I disagree with some idiot*. I have no idea how well I'm doing, though, because I wouldn't (because of my 'neuroatypicality').
*Damn.
This makes total sense, hopefully, you can see my viewpoint of being neurodiverse, but only really getting to grips with this in my early 50's, as I did not know.

When I did my tour of duty as a mod when NSC was hosted on a Babbage Difference Engine, some posters freely dropped the racially insultive 'n' and 'p' bombs like they were going out of fashion with little or no fear of reprisal and the likes of PPF were dabbling in Holocaust denial. That changed and it all became a bit more insidious.
Times change and with it so does what is acceptable. I don't read as much NSC as I used to but you can tell when someone is walking up to the line and pushing it as far as they can thinking they can get away with it. The fact they can't anymore will hopefully make them change their ways but if not they will need to find another forum for their poison.

This is the first time I can ever recall a grammatical or spelling error from you and, believe me, I am very good at spotting them. This is not a criticism but a commendation, maybe a slightly humorous one (not least because I was pulled up for incorrectly typing humurous in a post some months ago and I am still scarred by the shame of it).
Maybe I’m only seeing what I want to see l, but I fully agree with what you say and it feels like we - as a community on here - have gained a lot and lost nothing from this request for a bit of re-set. There has been a good deal of openness and honesty too and it’s certainly made me pause and re-think.
Like you say, long may it continue.

It certainly is.
Many people who have not discovered this, may not understand how big this is.
Unfortunately, many really will not understand the impact this can have and cyberbully for what we see as just petty grammatical errors can slingshot people back to those dark days of schools.
Although I don't officially see it as a disability, as it is something i strive to improve every day, even though I am closing in on 60.
What is hard is seeing those that feel worthless because society will rate them when seeing these little insignificant mistakes in emails, social media etc. I have come across 100s of neuro diverse adults that can let it get to them so much, that suicide or deep depression sets in leaving them feeling locked into unemployment or blocked within their current position and just because they don't have a bit of paper to suggest that they are educated by the current curriculum standards.
IQ has been proven not to correlate with the neuro diverse.
There are so many that excel to huge wealth, because of their problem solving, lateral thinking, logical reasoning, verbal communication skills.
The time is here now where employers need these skills in abundance, unfortunately, they need to skip through the ranks at times as middle management can be a difficult area for many unless supported.
Schools still need to adapt better to teach the kids, because they may well have the next, Branson, Sugar or Paphitis, that can un lock opportunity for all.
I would not be surprised at all if our own Tony doesn't fall within the neuro diverse category.

I’m not so sure about that. A couple of dozen internet buddies pile in en masse on predictable threads.
Lefties and Remainers are far more likely to be disgruntled with their lot in recent years, venting spleens or bitching every day comes from the frustration.
Whilst a couple of right wing, most probably deeply racist, folk post banal innuendo all day long to wind the others up.
Imho most nsc members either have no interest in party politics at all, or don’t care to share their views on a public football forum.
