With our away record, I am always nervous venturing away from the Amex following dropped points at home. But on this year's evidence, we may well end up collecting more points away than we do on home soil...an emphatic win at Watford, and a brave performance to be proud of at the Etihad - add to the list the domination of Newcastle United live on SKY SPORTS PREMIER LEAGUE ULTRA HD ‘THE HOME OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL’, THE BEST PLACE TO WATCH VAR REVIEWS OR GO OUT FOR A CUPPA WHILE THEY REVIEW THE GOAL.

Back in 2010, Brighton and Hove Albion’s then manager Gus Poyet philosophised in his typical, charismatic way what football meant following an improbable draw against Charlton. The manager felt his team had been wronged by the referee as Albion were reduced to ten after just seven minutes, but instead chose to focus on what the team had achieved, and the incredible atmosphere.

“It’s all about Brighton it’s all about Brighton. It’s

Following the incredible result at Watford in the season opener, back to a buzzing Amex for the first home game under Graham Potter. The Albion fans, in another 30,000+ crowd, full of optimism – expectation not only of a result, but of being entertained. Crazy times.

Team news is in. Here’s a handy tweet from Andy Naylor, to save me typing it. Naylor’s twitter output is still free to read, at least!

So, the preseason friendlies are done and it’s time for the real work to start. In less than a week the transfer window will slam shut and we’ll be getting on with the business of trying to get three valuable points at Watford. Last season we started very poorly there, although we picked up to have a first half a season that left us dreaming of Thursday nights in Albania. In the ...

Whether you were a Chris Hughton truther or someone who was against our former manager, one thing we can all agree on is that for Albion to progress and move forward we need to be a heck of a lot more dynamic in the final third of the pitch. Only the three relegated teams scored fewer goals than us last season, and our average of less than one goal per game on home soil was bordering on the criminal.

For Premier League clubs, the transfer market is a complete minefield. Even with an occasional injection of funds from a big sale, it’s extremely difficult to get recruitment right. How many times have we seen clubs sell their big stars, with the aim to reinvest the cash in the squad and strengthen the team as a whole, only for the majority of the dosh to end up wasted on overpriced mediocrity?

Before we embark on a new journey with Graham Potter at the helm, it’s still worth a look back at one of the standout performances from last season - Crystal Palace away. Any excuse, right? A fantastic setup from Hughton helped the Seagulls to a 1-2 victory, and a first league double over the Eagles since 1983/84, something to look back on with fondness forever despite a frankly rubbish second half of the season. Whilst we look forward with huge excitement to Potter’s brand of football; trust ...

Despite a stuttering second half of the last campaign, the Seagulls accomplished their primary goal of staying in the top flight of English football, earning the right to try to do the same this coming year. Let’s take a look at Albion’s chances of staying up once again and, perhaps, even taking a step forward and turning a few heads in the 2019/20 season.

The 2018-19 Premier League season was a close run affair for the Seagulls, but there seems to be a fresh feeling about the club ahead of the new season. The departure of Chris Hughton came as a shock to some, even though there were indications the club was stagnating and needed to evolve. The arrival of Graham Potter is undoubtedly the fresh face that was required, and his approach to management could make ...

When Aston Villa beat Derby County, or Frank Lampard’s Derby County to give them their full name, to clinch promotion to the Premier League, the top flight line-up for 2019/20 was complete.

After the 5-0 thrashing by Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth at home, attention would have quickly turned to the six-pointer against Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds, with Albion fans urging their side not to lose under any circumstances. Now that the unthinkable has happened, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to suggest that Chris Hughton’s side are in the midst of a very real crisis that could have far-reaching implications.

Alarmingly, the form of the Seagulls
