• Brighton and Hove Albion 2019/20 Season Highlights

2020 was an arduous year for Brighton and Hove Albion. However, they entered 2021 with renewed optimism. Fans are now allowed back at The Ames, and Graham Potter has coached his team into playing some amazing football. In fact, Brighton and Hove Albion look like a completely different team to the one we saw last year.

Although currently 16th in the Premier League, Brighton and Hove Albion have had some noteworthy performances this year. So, we are going to take a look back on some of Brighton and Hove Albionís highlights from the 2020/2021 season:

    Dunkís Free Kick Against Liverpool
Dunkís free-kick against Liverpool must be one of the highlights of Brighton and Hove Albionís 2020/2021 season. The ingenious quick thinking from the Brighton skipper at Anfield stadium saw him quickly side-foot a free-kick into the back of the net. He was so quick that Adrian had not finished organising his wall when the goal was scored. Dunk has since been named Brighton and Hove Albionís player of the year.

    Murray at West Ham
Although the game did not start as they had wished, Albion managed to finish the game with a draw. From 2-0 down to 3-1 down, Albion fought hard to claim a 3-3 finish at West Ham. This was thanks to a clever finish from Murray. Although many West Ham fans will argue that Murray handballed the final goal, VAR found that the final goal was nowhere near his hand and so the goal was allowed. Thank goodness for VAR.

    Mooyís Second Goal Against Bournemouth
Mooy scored not one, but two goals against Bournemouth. The Australian player managed to curl a ball into the top corner of the net. This led to a 2-0 win at the Amex for Brighton and Hove Albion.

    Burnís Touch at Manchester City
During a match against Manchester City, Cityís Kyle Walker kicked a long, high ball forward towards the Brighton and Hove Albion Game. Burn managed to carefully bring the ball down before turning to Sergio Aguero. We can certainly see why Burn was named as one of Albionís best players this year.

    Connollyís Goals Against Spurs
Brighton and Hove Albion have only been in the Premiership for one season, but they are certainly performing as well as some of the big-name teams, including Spurs. In fact, in the match against Spurs, Connolly managed to score not one, but two goals to make it a 3-0 finish for the team. Not only that, but it was his first Premier League start for the team. Connollyís goals delighted the Brighton and Hove Albion fans in the Amex stadium and the stadium lit up with the sound of cheers and chants.

Not many fans were expecting to see Albion beat Spurs, but the ones who did and who placed a bet at Novibet Sports certainly made a good profit.

    Neal Maupayís Header Against Arsenal
Although the game ended in a draw, this was a match that will never be forgotten by Brighton and Hove Albion fans as it was their best away result of the season. During the match, Aaron Mooy managed to create some space on the left of the pitch. He then expertly crossed the ball to Neal Maupay whose header flashed into the net.

    The Third at Watford
Brighton and Hove Albion had a fantastic start to the season. In their first match, they were 2-0 up against the previous seasonís FA Cup finalists. Then Albionís new signing Neal Maupay came off the bench to score a final goal. They ended up finishing the game with an impressive 3-0 finish.

    The Overhead Kick by Jahanbakhsh
In a match against Chelsea, Brighton needed a moment of magic. Thankfully for them, second-half substitute Jahanbakhsh did not let them down. The Iranian football player managed to net an overhead kick. With his back to the goal, he launched himself into the air and scissor kicked the ball into the bottom corner of the net. This goal earned Albion a draw against one of the best teams in the world.

Brighton and Hove Albion are currently sat in 16th place in the Premier League. However, their performances have been, simply put, much better than this. Expected Points believes that they could have easily achieved 8th place. They have performed honourably over the last year, creating some moments that fans of the club will never want to forget. From the amazing overhead kick by Jahanbakhsh to Dunkís free-kick against Liverpool, they are certainly a team to be reckoned with next season.
