• Southampton 1 - 1 Albion, 31.01.2018

A freezing night on the shores of the Solent, to kick off the four game spell that will surely come to define the Albion's season. A huge game for both sides - one that neither could afford to lose - Chris Hughton accordingly dispensing with the 3-at-the-back formation that excited against Chelsea but left us wide open at the same time.

Back to a standard back four, with Bong and Schellotto on the flanks. The rest of the first choice side settled - Knockaert the odd (wide)man out. Plenty of attacking intent in reserve though - Baldock, Knockaert and Kayal, joined by newly returned favourite Leonardo Ulloa. Conservative starting choices from Saint's boss Pellegrino - the tricky Boufal, Gabbiadini and record signing Guido Carillo all amongst the substitutes. Another factor into the mix - tonight's referee - Mr Michael Dean - anything can happen there.
