• Number 21.....Brighton & Hove Albion.....will play.....

After Saturday's smash-and-grab win at Brentford, the Albion will be ball number 21 in the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup - the sixth consecutive season we have reached this stage of the competition.

The draw will be televised live on BBC1 at 7:30pm on Monday night, ahead of the AFC Wimbledon v Liverpool third round tie.

It has taken a Premier League team to knock us out on each of the previous five years, with Hull City putting paid to Oscar Garcia's side in a fifth round replay last season, with many fans feeling that the Albion should have progressed through to the quarter-finals in the first match at the Amex.

With Crystal Palace easing past Dover into the draw, ball number 5 will hold special appeal for Albion fans. An added twist to such a draw, should it happen, would be the visit of new Palace manager Alan Pardew. Whilst manager at Newcastle, Pardew twice brought his Premier League side to the Amex and left defeated on both occasions. It would be nice to complete the hat-trick.

Ties will be played on the 24/25 January meaning the scheduled home Championship game against Ipswich will have to be postponed to a later date.
