• Robinson rules himself out of Albion move

Current betting market leader Karl Robinson appears to have ruled himself out of making a move to the Albion after reports the club had approached MK Dons to speak to their young manager.

MK Dons are sitting pretty in second place in League One as Robinson tries to succeed where he has been so close before by steering the club to the Championship for the first time since the club's exodus from Wimbledon.

Robinson is as short as 9/4 to be the Albion's next permanent manager, but reflecting on reports of an approach by Tony Bloom, Robinson said: "There is no smoke without fire.

"But it was a decision that me and the club came to. It's a privilege to be linked to a club such as Brighton, but I've made a lot of promises to people at this club in the summer and I have to stick to my word.

"We have games coming up against Notts County and Walsall and I can guarantee I will be in charge for those two games."

      "Those two games"?

That sounds a bit of a cop out. Leaving his options open for better offers.

Plenty of wriggle room for Robinson. Why did he specifically mention 2 particular games, and not the rest of the season.

Maybe not in terms of us, but any MK fan who reads that interview as a sign of his commitment needs a crash course in media relations.

Perhaps he already has another offer in mind.
