• Bennett: I'd love to stay but it's out of my hands

Elliott Bennett says he is delighted his loan deal at the Albion has been extended, and would not hesitate to extend it further if Sami Hyypia wanted to retain him for longer and Norwich allowed that to happen.

The November international break and Albion's fixture against his parent club limited his opportunities during his opening month back on the South coast, but the loan extension should give Bennett a greater chance to shine: "The manager here wanted to keep me. I want to play games and the gaffer here said I would if I stayed so it was a pretty simple decision for everyone I think."

Bennett is currently contracted to Norwich until the Summer of 2016 and the 25-year old would not think twice if the opportunity arose for him to complete the current season with the Albion: "Itís not in my control, if the manager here wanted me to stay and Norwich wanted me to stay, Iíd love to stay here - Iíd never hide that fact. Brighton holds a special place for me, it helped me to become a Premier League player and Iíll be forever thankful for that.

"But itís not in my control whatsoever. If Norwich call me back or the manager decides Iím no use to him then itís not something I can really control.

"All I can control is coming in every day, working as hard as I can, and when I get the opportunity to play help the team as much as possible, and then itís up to everyone else."
