• Darren Bent primed for Albion debut success

Albion boss Sami Hyypia will be hoping that Darren Bent is the man to get his mis-firing team back on track as Fulham visit the Amex on Saturday.

Summer arrival Sam Baldock, who was expected to lead the Albion goalscoring charts this season, took until his 8th Albion appearance to get off the mark. Fellow new boy Chris OíGrady did no better, failing to score in his 11 Albion appearances prior to being loaned to Sheffield United.

New Seagulls loanee Darren Bent has not struggled to make an early mark on the scoresheet during the travels that have seen clubs pay nearly £50m for his services.

Bent has scored debuts goals for Charlton (scoring twice in an away Premier League victory at Sunderland), for Sunderland (the only goal of the game at Bolton), for current club Villa (the winner in a 1-0 defeat of Manchester City) and when on loan at Fulham (in a 3-1 home defeat to Arsenal).

Where he hasnít scored on his first game for a new club, he didnít take long to get off the mark. Starting out at Ipswich he scored his first goal in his third game when coming off the bench, and after his big money move to Spurs he also scored in his third game.

Itís an enviable track record that a bumper Amex crowd will be looking to continue as Bent faces one of his former clubs in his first Albion start.
