I am hoping to be surprised by a glut of quality players over the next few weeks, I am expecting to be underwhelmed and just get on with supporting a team who I hope can stay up this season.

Relax. The probable first team squad is already stronger than the one that finished 10th in 2011/12.

Possibly but it's very thin and it may be my imagination but the Championship has FAR more quality players and teams in contention for promotion than it than it did three years ago.

No. If we are only spending 500K on Leo's replacement, then I can't see any million pound deals.

Shouldn't the quality of the player joining be more important than them being expensive?

Our best players in the last few years:
Bridcutt
Ulloa
Upson
Bridge
Kuzcack
Ward
Vicente

Apart from Ulloa they didn't cost any money

Is the lower threshold of spending £1m akin to a 'get your dick out' exercise?

I think you should be waving it about as well once it gets past £999999.99.

With Adebayo Akinfenwa and Chris Holroyd signing elsewhere, I just can't see it happening.
