Well this was in The Upshot on Monday

Because the queen died, we will not be playing our league game against Byron House tomorrow morning at 10.30am. We will instead be aiming to play a friendly tomorrow morning, against Byron House, kick-off 10.30am." - Sheffield International FC.

Good for them. There was not a national ban on sports, there was not any reason for a game not to take place. The leagues decided not to go ahead with fixtures, but that didn't mean nobody could play any fixture of any kind. If they face any punishment for playing it will be totally wrong and will end up backfiring quite dramatically.

Indeed.

Utterly ridiculous to ban amateur football games, when the alternative for those players was to sit at home watching professional cricket, rugby or golf on the television - all still merrily continuing with black arm bands and a sing-song.
