Was Angela the lady taking the photos with the hideously expensive telephoto lense on the mono pod?
If so, I'm surprised with the quality of some of those shots. The composition is good etc, but the quality seems to be lacking. Any photography experts care to perhaps suggest why this may be?

Most out of focus. Camera used was a 40D (Canon).

All the shots that I have looked at were taken at a shutter speed of 1/125 second, that probably accounts for the blur.

Most books I have read stipulate a shutter speed of at least 1/500 second to freeze the action.
