I picked up my barbel rods a couple of weeks ago and had two days on the upper Severn - 20 barbel to 7lb and 6 chub to 5lb - much fun was had!

Im jelous , not really many venues to fish for Barbel down here , only ever caught them on stillwater match venues so probably not the same sort of experience .

...Sussex Ouse has a decent head of Barbel these days. Stocked by Haywards Heath on their stretches from Lindfield to Newick several years ago and have thrived.
