Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-21s were defeated 4-0 by Swansea City today at the club’s Landore training ground.
A brace from Henry Jones, and a goal each from Owain Jones and Biotti Biabi earned the Swans a comprehensive victory, in a disappointing afternoon for Simon Rusk’s side.
The hosts created their first chance inside the opening three minutes when Ryan Hedges saw his header almost loop into the net from a Henry Jones cross.
The deadlock was broken five minutes later as Biabi latched onto another Henry Jones ball before dispatching his shot past Albion keeper Harry Doherty.
The lead was doubled just two minutes later after Hedges reacted quickest to a mistake in the Brighton defence and played in Henry Jones, who made no mistake in making it 2-0.
Biabi was inches away from scoring his second and Swansea’s third when his header went narrowly over the target from Liam Shephard’s cross.
The third goal came in the 18th minute, after Adnan Maric’s ball into the box was fired home on the volley by Jones for his second of the match.
The scoring was completed three minutes before the interval, when substitute Owain Jones, who came on to replace the injured Daniel James, ended a well-worked move to effectively finish the game as a contest.
