I think you'll find that was 'the Coalition of the willing', and most western nations thought it was a dreadful idea. Even more now think they were right to do so.

It would be a very difficult war to win, despite its relatively weak cold war era inventory. Maybe even impossible; but at the very least it would be devastating for North Koreans and its neighbours.
How could it possible to defeat an army of 9 million people? 1.2m of which are prepared for war and few would surrender.

What would happen if the USA sent over some tactical cruise missiles (like the Syrian airfield recently) to quash NK's nuke programme at source? Would NK seriously try to retaliate or would they go quietly with their tails between their legs?
