Ok, so I'm hoping the NSC hive mind can help with a suggestion or two. Landlord insurance is not my field, but I'm sure there's a few landlords here. My son in London has let his 3 year old top floor furnished apartment and asked me to look over his Landlords Insurance quote. He is new to the game.

Full disclosure, I have little idea what he needs. Does anyone have any helpful tips as Google has not really been my friend on this occasion.

I would not advise letting a furnished property as your son will be liable to fix anything which breaks....costs can soon add up.

Key question - is the letting furnished or unfurnished?

If unfurnished, then he need only seek buildings cover as he does not need protection for loss of contents - that'll be for the tenant(s) to sort.
Homelet do do specific Landlord insurance so I'd give them a call - malicious damage may or may not been in the policy - ask.

I use Direct Line as well . Flat is unfurnished. Very straightforward and never a single problem with them
