After going missing several months ago on a hike, human remains have been confirmed to be those of Julian Sands.
I especially liked him in A Room With A View and The Killing Fields.
I met him several times and attended some talks he did as he was a pupil at the same school as me. Not at the same time but he returned to do various engagements with the school over the years. Very quiet but interesting man.
He was an experienced hiker, something we talked about on a few occasions. And was an avid mountaineer, which I saw him give several talks about.
He died while hiking in the hills around Los Angeles.
