What do you called an aardvark that keeps getting beaten up?

A vaark

I'm guessing Mr Hawkins is unaware that the word Aardvark is from Afrikaans Dutch, with "aard" meaning "earth" and "vark" meaning "pig". This means he believes an aardvark that keeps getting beaten up should just be called a pig, which sounds very confusing to me.

It's probably the fault of African Wild Dogs. They are notorious predators of aardvarks and usually hunt in packs.

This, probably. Aardvarks are particularly vulnerable to predators, being fairly docile creatures by nature. As they say, aardvark never killed anyone

Millions of ants would suggest otherwise.
