Just reading the below article that relates to Uefa's likely sanctions to 8 clubs in European competition, but if the same is applied to the Premier League it's hardly surprising the richest clubs don't abide by the rules. Fines levied can also be paid by directors of the club rather than directly by the club themselves making a mockery of the system and those mega rich owners who see their clubs as a 'play thing' and don't mind paying such fines.

The penalty for breaching Uefa FFP rules should be a ban from European competition or domestically - points deductions.

Otherwise what's the point?

Covid effect lying is all part of this.

Brighton £50m, Villa £56m and Arsenal £86m are the quantified losses from the pandemic.

Then Everton come along and claimed it cost them £170m. They’ve cheated, spending £600m in fees, also mad contracts. They stayed up by the skin of their teeth, they wouldn’t have without the influx of players.

Currently under investigation by the EPL and several clubs have lodged complaints.

You can you bet they’ll get away with it.

Trouble is when the body in charge of regulating the EPL is also the same body in charge of promoting and selling the TV rights to the EPL there will never be proper regulation and governance.

It's almost like the governments scrutiny and regulation of corporate business

Like most laws, they make sense but don’t get enforced appropriately.
