Kemy Agustien played better than most on his comeback
Kemy Agustien admits his comeback was overshadowed by a home defeat.
The Dutch midfielder got on the pitch for just the second time since August last night.
But his comeback from fitness issues was marred by 2-1 home defeat to Barnsley.
Agustien said: “I’ve been waiting a long time to get my chance again.
“I’m happy to be on the pitch and everyone can see that.
“But at the end we lost the game and that is more important than my game time.”
Agustien added: “We needed the points and, like the gaffer said in the meeting, we need to do it against the teams below us.
“Against the big teams we turn up and against the little teams it’s like we wait for them to come out and switch on after that.”
Winning boss Micky Mellon dedicated his team’s first away success of the season to the man he replaced.
Mellon is acting as caretaker boss for David Flitcroft, who was sacked on Saturday.
He said: “I knew coming to Brighton if we kept giving the ball away it would be tough evening.
“It was a tough evening anyway. “It’s a fantastic place to come and play football but we kept the ball and quietened a loud crowd.”
Albion now face leaders Leicester, who were also on the wrong end of a shock last night. The Foxes lost 2-1 at managerless Sheffield Wednesday.
