Oakley mechanics. They are mobile so can do anywhere local. Did my Mrs brakes in Shoreham a couple of months ago. Cheaper than the garage around the corner. Put in a new steering rack in my old motor and did a new clutch in my neighbours car a year or so ago.

Montgomery motors in shoreham or southwick, Woodbourne garage in Brighton, ATG autotuning at shoreham airport, Palmeira Servicing in Hove, GM Autocare in Montpelier road
Montgomery motors have really gone downhill since the last manager left (Fred). They as aren't doing MOTs at the moment as the MOT bloke isn't there anymore. We've used them for 10 years or more but will look for others from now on I think.

Woodbourne Garage did mine on a VW and have had no issues. Cover a lot of miles. Palmeira Servicing in Hove have also always been good.

Funnily enough, I used them for both family cars for the entire 90’s and 00’s. They were brake specialists, Better Brakes I think, then they morphed into another trade name? I spent many a time sitting in their waiting room, with soft porn motor industry calendars hanging in the office.

Such a long time ago, I thought they may’ve gone.

Good news.
Rapid was set up by a group of blokes when the Ford main dealership on Old Shoreham Road closed down, (now Mayberry Garden centre), as far as I know it’s an entirely different business to Better Brakes.
I take both of our cars to Rapid, excellent and honest service.

We used the services of Rapid Autos today, just £230 for front brake pads and a new battery.

Caffyns quoted £350 for the pads, £200 for the battery.

Great service too and it was nice going through a photo of Albion players circa 1980 at a recent-ish renunion, with the guy.
But why was Pat Jennings in the photo ???

Matt @ Perkins & Robyns is good. Been using hime for some years now for MOT's and modern car servicing And repairs.
My Mrs went there yesterday to get her windscreen washers fixed. She said they were really friendly and reasonable price wise.
