Well, if you dangle the carrot of Falmer in a couple of years, I thing there are loads of possibilities, and assuming we have money to offer to get a decent manager, then we could quite possibly poach someone from the Championship

Boy 1 enters shot, puts ball on top of fridge, and opens it

Boy 2: "Got any lemonade?"
Boy 1: "If you want!" (he takes a bottle of (presumably) lemonade from the fridge and hands it to Boy 2 and a bottle of milk which he pours some for himself in a glass)
Boy 2: "Milk.....Ugh!"
Boy 1: "It's what Ian Rush drinks."
Boy 2: "Ian Rush?"
Boy 1: "Yeah, an' he says if I didn't drink lots of milk, when I grow up I'll only be good enough to play for Accrington Stanley!"
Boy 2: "Accrington Stanley? ... Who are they??!"
Boy 1: "Exactly!"

PASSIONATE John Coleman has told Stanley’s missing fans that they will be responsible if the Reds slip through the Football League trap door back into the depths of the Blue Square Premier.

The manager is frustrated by the size of crowds at the Fraser Eagle Stadium – and while he thinks the world of the club’s die-hards, he knows that small attendances mean a low budget when it comes to team building.

“You don’t have to be a genius to understand that if you’re getting crowds of 1,100, 1,200, 1,300 and you’re trying to support a playing budget that you can only pay 60 per cent of your turnover out, A doesn’t go into B,” said Coleman.

To be fair, I saw Accrington Stanley play earlier this season in the Carling cup at Molineux. What they lacked in skilll they certainly made up for in gritt and determination. Wolves had to go to extra time to win (with big Chris Iwelumo scoring the winning goal).

Gullit would be my choice, but it is not realistic right now. Sexy football.

Houghton appointed coach of India

Englishman Bobby Houghton has been appointed as the new coach of India.
The globe-trotting coach, who played for Fulham and Brighton, will take up his new post on 20 June.

Houghton spent six seasons in Sweden with Malmo and led them to the European Cup final in 1979 - where they lost to Nottingham Forest.

He managed Bristol City in the 1980s, while his other coaching stop-offs have included Greece, the United States, Saudi Arabia, China and Uzbekistan.

I don't really care, but I'd like someone who plays the passing game rather than the hoofing we've been playing this season. I'd like to see us play with wingers who get to the byline and cross the ball, I'd like to see us play with defenders whose first thought is to look for a midfielder or even carry the ball forward. In short I'd like to see us playing football again.

Well, if you dangle the carrot of Falmer in a couple of years,

That may be, but any prospective manager will now know that there is also the stick that will be used sharpish in the event of failure and occasionally even in the event of success

I must confess I can't think of one standout manager that is likely to be available, but then I'd never heard of Gannon a week ago.

Has to be a manager who's teams plays entertaining football imo though, we don't want another manager who relies on hoof ball to cover his shortcomings.
