Will be interesting to see the unfolding dynamic between Salmond and Sturgeon. Politics is a brutal game but often the most brutal rivalries are between party colleagues. Sturgeon has stolen the limelight since she became leader but all the focus is now going to be on their Westminster MPs with Salmond as their de-facto leader. I can't imagine Sturgeon is going to be happy playing in the Scottish non-League when Alex is in the Premier League down in London. I can see all the media focus switching back to Salmond and plenty of tensions within the SNP in the months and years ahead.

The Guardian reports some Labour big-hitters saying today: “The issue of aspiration in people’s lives; we can no longer relate to them as a party of aspiration.”

Indeed. And Salmond started stepping into the limelight today, stating that Scotland was closer to full independence than ever. Sturgeon talks about a hand of friendship and Salmond delivers a two-fingered salute.

All the important dialogue is going to happen in London - be it between Westminster politicians or on TV interviews on the evening bulletins or Newsnight. Nicola is going to end up waiting by a phone for a scheduled call from the Office of The Prime Minister that mysteriously never comes or drops out because, "the Prime Minister has been called away. My name is Quentin. I'm the Deputy Principal Private Under Secretary for the Scottish Office - perhaps I can help?" Or on one of those wonky TV links with a picture of Edinburgh Castle in the background.
Meanwhile, Alex will be trooping in and out of Downing Street and appearing on Newsnight 3 nights a week. With Sturgeon stranded at Holyrood and Salmond wearing the big trousers in Westminster Cameron can play the SNP anyway he chooses.
I feel bad now. Still, I assume you can afford it.

As a point of interest, now that he returns to normal life, how long will it take Ed Miliband to stop himself responding to every enquiry with the over-rehearsed, "That's a great question..."

Quite a few unbearably poor losers on facebook. Why can't people accept that others have different opinions? Why does the left-wing argument have to be delivered with a sense of intellectual superiority? These are people who didn't get more than 5 GCSEs, and they continue to preach.

The people that really annoy me are the right wing poor.
They live in shiteholes and have terrible low paid jobs.
Yet in their twisted little minds they think they are only one break in life from being moderately weathy and living the life of riley. They don't blame the Tory government for their terrible lifestyle, they blame immigrants or the EU. Or both.
So they vote Tory.
And then will spend the next 5 years waiting weeks for hospital appointments, having schools reject applications for entry, their kids being unable to afford to go to university etc etc.
It's a complete and utter joke. Not a funny one either.

Your prize is the most patronising post of the day. Your bitter, it happens, move on. The people have spoken, even the "right wing poor" who live in "shitholes and have terrible low paid jobs"........were allowed to vote.
If the last 5 years were that bad then how come the present government got voted back in with a MASSIVE majority.
And then in five years they will vote for good old Boris. He's funny and nice with funny, scruffy hair.

You do realise Blair introduced university fees in 1998?
As for the NHS take a look at the way it's being run in Wales. The worst performing I believe. Labour are running that.
Also school application rejections have been happening for years. Even when I was at school.

If the Tories won the election the public sector share of GDP by 2020 is scheduled to be about 36.7% of GDP. Under Labour it would have been 38.1% of GDP.

Doubt it, they would be begging to be part of the EU. The risk of course is that they are tied to german centric interest rate settings which means they would in this scenario go through some pain to cut back their deficit.

Eastbourne hospital, a shambles when my dad went there, that was under the Labour government at the time. Not enough staff, no communication, any staff they did have at the time couldn't speak English properly and me and my mum where left feeling like we where the problem and not the other way around, that was after repeated phone calls and attempts trying to get the staff to listen to us about his pre existing problems with mental illness. It's a long story now, mistakes where made and my dad passed away a year later in 2004. I had a case to take things a lot further, but I didn't. I was too exhausted myself which ended up with me becoming depressed and then requiring tablets myself. For the Labour party to bang on about the NHS, dropping standards, what a bunch of hypocrites. And the other time my dad was left in A&E for over 15 hours. I will never ever vote for that party again.
