"I've recently come across a book Guy has released; it is a brilliant tool for anyone looking to make it in the professional game, as It gives insight into the industry like never before!

Also features contributions from a host of football stars including Foxes legends Steve Claridge and Matt Piper

Definitely worth a look"

Unfortunately he didn't say "our very own Steve Claridge and Matt Piper"

It may have done. He edited the post.

Interesting, how did you come across it?
So now you're pretending to be a Brighton fan.

So have you registered on every football forum, posed as one of them and bigged up one of their players, to promote your book? That is so sad. You should have just contacted admin and asked if it was ok to post a bit about your book.

He's obviously a doddery, senile old git who'd forgotten he'd written it. He makes J.R. Hartley (of 'Fly Fishing' fame if you remember that Yellow Pages ad) look positively sharp.

Interesting that the person who gives it a 5* ranking on Amazon has only ever written 1 review

You got me. To be honest I'm not really sure how these forums work so didn't want to write it from myself as It's obvious I would praise something I've been involved in and subsequently I thought I would receive huge amounts of banter… it turns out I got that anyway but I don't mind that and that's what football is all about, and to be fair it was well deserved.

All this said it genuinely is a very helpful book and Craig was brilliant and gave a huge amount to the book. Cheers Lads

I come across a new book that has been released called 'The Footballer's journey'

It is aimed at football hopefuls looking to make it in the game, and provide stories, advice of guidance from a number of footballing stars including our very own Craig Mackail-Smith.

That man worked his socks off to get out of Non-league into the Pro game, after never being part of an academy and he's done marvellously to get where he is, hats off to him.

The book is definitely an interesting read thats worth a look

Does the book have any mention of Barry Fry delivering his daughters baby in the bath? If so i'm in.

How many other forums is it on?

Just the one. I have now edited it to make it just informative and not as a third person. Top banter from you boys and I assure you I am hugely embarrassed and have learnt my lesson!

I think you'll find the correct footballing term is 'disappointed', the strongest emotion for public consumption allowed to be expressed within the game.

Yeah I checked that out, and looked at their other reviews - there weren't any. I was buying an iPad case, and it had 32 5* reviews. I checked out the other reviews by the reviewers, and every single reviewer, without exception, had only ever reviewed products from that one company (Invero), and had only ever given 5% reviews. Seemed that every customer not only owned an iPad, but also a Samsung tablet, Samsung phone, and iPhone.

I assure you I am hugely embarrassed and have learnt my lesson!
I can't tell you how disappointed this makes me. Why couldn't you just deny everything and insult us all? I've lost the will to order you a dozen pizzas, currys, escorts and skips.

PS - don't pretend to be a fan on the Liverpool forum - they're not as soft as us lot, they won't stop until you're homeless.
